Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Keypad frozen I have the same problem as Antonio770 and a couple of others. No trauma or abuse to phone, but suddenly frozen and only occasional action from the keypad, but not reproducible, and always wrong. Will answer a call if closed, but unable to answer a call if open when it comes in. Someone suggested a flash file solution but no instructions. Would really appreciate more info. Thanks.

Re: Keypad frozen

I'm not sure if flashing the firmware will solve your problem or not, but it seems to be a likely solution. Here is a link to a very good site on how to do that with a V3

File a police report. The police can get a warrant if necessary to get the person's info from the carrier. There really isn't any other way.

Arrow failure

wicabix hello,

It seems like the keypad has moved perhaps because of a trauma to the phone.
I would suggest to send it to a lab if still under warranty.
If not, open the back lid, remove the battery. Then, unscrew both panels using a small screwdriver, and try to place the keypad in its right place.
Then, screw back on, put the battery in its place, and turn the phone on.
Good luck.

Handset dead

Upma I have experienced this before and if the phone has been damp by body heat or other moisture then it does do this. try drying it out with a hairdrier on a cool setting. then leave it to dry properly for a couple of days in a warm NOT HOT place. the keypad will start to work and the battery will settle as well. let me know how this goes. t1m0thy

Keypad frozen, still receives calls

Hi, You don't need 2 flash your razr for this problem. What u need is a screen flex cable. The three buttons around the screen are controlled by a flex cable and the voice recorder is connected on this flex cable. This needs replacing but it's very tricky to deal with. I suggest a really good tech that deals with razr's to handle this problem to possibly replace the flex cable. This would solve yor frozen keypad problem. SAM !
