My compaq presario c500 is always hang or blocked the screen everytime i tried to close the windows please help me to solve the problem? thanks for your kind attention of this matter.

Ur operating system files have been corrupteded.but try this,defragment ur files and scabn disk to fix files

Hi there, please try this solution, no promises as it appears yo may have a fatal HDD error ot virus:

1. Power on the computer
2. Press F10 repeatedly when you see the HP or Compaq logo.
2. When the recovery screen appears, press Next and then Yes to perform a non-destructive recovery.
3. To perform a destructive recovery, click Advanced and then Yes.
4. After the recovery is finished, the PC will reboot.

Compaq Presario desktop with blank screen


Reset or Clear CMOS because maybe it hang-up some devices that are plug-in to. You can do that by removing the Lithium Battery on the Motherboard. This tips are only technician can do that but to solve your problems like this, this is a tip. And also check your Memory Module.

if your monitor has degauss button press it.your pro is solved.change your disply resolution and color format to 32bit.
make sure your display driver is ready

i would maybe look at any devices you have connected as the hanging may well be a corrupt driver or faulty hardware, but as always a process of illimination is required. i would suspect either a processor overheating or motherboard problem, as you have changed the ram and you mention that under load it happens frequently.
