Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100
Im sitting in my school library and the trackball just stopped going down. is there a way i can:
A) FIX IT SOON.
or B) get to my Options to change the Sensitivity Settings without using the downward motion on the trackball because that wouldnt work.
Thanks so much!
I had exactly the same problem. I spent a while trying to use a qtip to flush out the dirt but this didn't work.
I eventually sorted it by carefully lifting the cover (use a credit card to lift it up - slip it in the gap above the y key).
Then carefully hold the bb upside down and the trackball will fall out. Catch it in your hand.
Remove any obvious grit. I also used something out of a manicure set. I am not sure what it is called but it looks like a small tick remover. Anyway using one side I carefully slotted it into the small gap between the rubber ring and the trackball and lots of other bits of grit fell out.
Then once it was clean, I popped it back into the bb and refitted the cover - making sure to put the legs in the correct position.
It now works fine
Hope this helps
