well if you
have a old laptop with a broken hinge or if its just old and you dont
have a use for it. Before you trash it, make it into a digital picture
frame, supplies needed:
Plexi-glass
old laptop with good screen
screws, nuts, bolts, tools, dremel, what ever you decide to use
a little knowledge of computer parts
a usb extension cord for making the usb port on the side
a power jack for charging
perferably a disk drive
harddrive (which should be in the laptop
wifi card (optional) - wifi antennas
power cord
usb keyboard mouse combo (perferably one that only requires 1 usb adapter, otherwise you will need a usb hub)
simply,
dissassemble the unit, add a usb receiver for a keyboard mouse combo,
mount the parts(motherboard, screen, drive, harddrive, ram, heatsink,
processor, fan, wifi card(optional) usb reciever for keyboard mouse
combo, SCREEN INVERTER (OR UR SCREEN WILL BE DARK),etc, speakers) into
a pelxi glass box which is easy to make, add some vents on the side for
the fan, also add a usb port and a charger port, and a simple stand and
you got a digital picture frame, you may also want to add a disk drive
onto it. also good for playing dvds, internet (if u install a wifi
card), music (if there are speakers in the laptop, install them into
this), and much more!
also have fun with it, dont worry about breaking it, its a laptop you were going to trash anyways, just have fun with it
to
add the power jack just plug a similar end into the port on the
motherboard and connect a jack that fits the charger on the end and
mount it (hot glue works) on the back out of the way, or on the side.

if it is a pre-2000 computer, then install the windows operating
system, if its later then 2000 then you may want to install something
called Ubuntu, its a linux distro, very handy, and its absoultly free,

you should download and click the program after installation and it will load and it will say that connected sucessully and then go to your internet explorer or browser and then go to orkut you will find it unlocked
just go to internet option on desktop and write clik on it then move to properties and then move to privacy then click on sites there u can allow or block which site is permit to open or not..
