SOURCE: how to remove keyboard on asus a6r

GoTo: http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?board_id=3&model=F8Va&id=20081014062722281&page=1&SLanguage=en-us

and you will find Kenjo explain it as below:

Flip the laptop over, there is a hole scre in a hole on the graphics card asnd cpu cover. It is marked with a K>. Remove that screw and flip the laptop back over. At the top of the keyboard over th F2 button, between F5 and 6, F10, and the INS buttons. Pop these over to release and then there are two on the sides near Tab and PgUp. Slowly lift the keyboard up. The data cable is on the lower left. Slide the lock bar down and release the data cable. I had my machine almost completly apat before I realized how easy it reallys was.

Good Luck even though you should't need it as Keyboard Removal on most Laptops aren't that hard to work out, just thorough examination and not brut force.

cheers,

Bastian

How to get my usb ports working. have connected100% Normal mouse and keyboard port not working. trying to connect USB keyboard & mouse. Can't get into the bios? Can anyone assist me please?

Try using a PS2 keyboard and pressing F2 to enter BIOS if this is possible.
Then navigate the the Peripheral settings and make sure that the USB ports are switched on or, if available, set USB ports to legacy support.

Mouse and keyboard not working on it(asus a8n-e)

1)Make sure the jumper that resets the board, is on the right position based on manual.
2)Reset memory stick(s)
If this does not work, try using USB keyboard and mouse.

No boot no keyboard or mouse

First disconnect all external connections except video, see if system will boot normally (press the power button once on tower to shutdown)

If that works, then connect the keyboard only to the back USB port nearest the NIC. See if the keyboard works. If it does, shutdown and connect the mouse and try again. If it doesn't, try the mouse only. If you localize the problem to either the mouse or keyboard, replace that item.

If neither works, then reset the motherboard junper to reset BIOS defaults. the again, try them one at a time. If they still do not work, then you will need a mothebroard.

I can't install vista any mouse or keyboard detected

Often times this happens when using a USB keyboard / Mouse.

Or when using a USB keyboard through a PS/2 Converter.

Try using a PS/2 Keyboard if available
(Small Round connector with a small amount of pins, similar to a S-Video connector.)

Also. Access your BIOS settings and assure that you have Legacy USB keyboard support.
Depending on your computer the BIOS / Setup Menu / Options Menu/ Etc. can be accessed by pressing the following key during boot:
F1
F2
ESC
DEL
F12

Let us know your setup(KB and Mouse Port type), and if you have any other issues.

Good luck

Asus P4p800 se Mainboard USb Ports not working

it would seem that you are not the only one with this problem with the USB's, the only soloution i have found that people say works is to reset the cmos (remove motherboard battery without any power cord attached) for 10 mins, or, go into the bios and reset to default/optomised defaults

hope this helps

Can't load os do you computer Dell only has usb ports

Ensure the Keyboard and mouse are connected to the USB ports nearest the PS2 port on the back of the chassis.

Boot to the BIOS F2 and ensure USB emulation is ON.

If you can't access the bios, reset the BIOS using the Jumper on the motherboard, then USB ports should then work.
