Question about Canon i9950 InkJet Printer
Are you using original ink tanks and have they any ink in them?
Does the printer do a page test from the printer (consult your manual) or even from the printers folder (... printers .... rt click the driver image ... properties ... bottom of tab - print test page.) What happens?
If you have no joy from these tests then it's possible that the ink head has become clogged. A very familiar event when using non original inks - the viscosity and chemical makeup are differnt to the original items.
If you're happy to wield a screwdriver or two and inevitably cut and scratch your hands - (health and safety - sharp edges don't apply to the insides of computer equipment) theb you could try the following.
To un-clog the ink head you will need to dimantle the printer and remove the print head from it's carriage, then soak it overnight in an isoprponol (or other alcohol based liquid, whisky vodka!) somewhere cool (not the fridge it smells a bit). Then before replacing, swim the unit in the liquid for a few minutes and stand on a wad of absorbant towels until air dry naturally - it won't take too long. Replace and try that.
I must note to you that this solution does not always work and it's a lot of dismantling and re-assembling of the printer. If you're not confident about doing it, replace the printer it's too expensive to buy the head unit and have it fitted.
