Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Brand new ink #60 just bought is making the photo all orange

I also bought another ink jet cartridge before this (60xl) that was supposed to be able to print 440 pages, I was only able to print (4) 8x10 and (2) 4x6. Then i bought before that one # 60 turned all the photos green. What is the problem with your #60 ink jet cartridges? I have spent $136.99 to be able to print my pictures since Christmas and have not lkbeen able to. My computer and HP ALL IN ONE is brand new. If i thought I was going to have this much problems with HP products I would never have bought another HP Computer or HP All In One Printer.

You need HP 60 cartridges.
HP also makes high capacity cartridges HP 60XL.

Check their website. If you are in another country, I think your browser will automatically be redirected to the link for your area.

You can order directly from HP or go to your local computer or electronics store.

I recommend using genuine HP brand cartridges.
I've found ink cartridge refill kits to be inconsistent. Many have leaked. In addition, they are messy.

Hp 4480 how do you unpause it

The HP F4480 likely has a malfunctioning ink cartridge which is causing the printer hang (i.e. internal micro-electronics damage inside the HP 60 color or black ink cartridge). You can verify the electrical condition of both HP 60 ink cartridges by activating the Tap 41 diagnostic test report (see video here for complete instructions):

http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440 (HP 60 - Deskjet F2400/F4400/F4500 models)
1.While holding the Power button, press Cancel (X) button 4 times, then press the Color Copy button once.
    2.Release the Power button.
3.The 'Tap 41' diagnostic test print should print.

Providing the color cartridge is partially functioning the Tap 41 diagnostic test print will be printed (this is a forced service print test which is mainly used for the evaluation of ink cartridge electrical health). A good HP 60/60XL color cartridge should display 1248 good nozzles, while a good HP 60/60XL black ink cartridge should show 336 good nozzles. If the results yield anything different then the ink cartridge is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. Refer to 2nd video on how to read the printout.
    http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440 (HP 60 - Deskjet F2400/F4400/F4500 models)
    http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=444 (HP 60 - Deskjet F4200 model)

If the printer attempts to print the diagnostic test pattern (1 page) then the printer is generally considered operational and functional, if nothing is printed, but the printer attempts to print the pattern, then the tri-color ink cartridge is either empty, clogged or severely electrically damaged (black ink cartridge is not used). You can remove the tri-color cartridge, reactivate the tap 41 test and the printer will print the diagnostic test print in black ink.

Cannot make the printer work after I changed the ink cartridges?

You can validate the HP60 ink cartridge's electrical health by running the 'Tap 41' diagnostics test (this procedure is specific to the F2480 model). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TAP 41 video procedure at the following link on how to activate and read the service test: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=440

1. While holding the Power button, press Cancel (X) button 4 times, then press the Color Copy button once.
2. Release the Power button.
3. The 'Tap 41' diagnostic test print should print.

A good HP 60/60XL color cartridge should display 1248 good nozzles, while a good HP 60/60XL black ink cartridge should show 336 good nozzles. If the results yield anything different then the ink cartridge is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. Refer to video on how to read the printout. http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=434

---- If the printer attempts to print the diagnostic test pattern (1 page) then the printer is generally considered operational and functional, if nothing is printed, but the printer attempts to print the pattern, then the tri-color ink cartridge is either empty, clogged or severely electrically damaged (black ink cartridge is not used). How can I align my HP Photosmart C4680 printer after replacing ink cartridge.

If the new (or refilled/reman/compatible) HP 60 (or 60XL) ink cartridge refuses to complete the printer alignment following cartridge installation, then the ink cartridge either has a connectivity issue with the flexible printed circuit cable (inside unit where cartridge mates with cable), rear cartridge contacts or cable contacts are dirty with ink residue, or the cartridge is suffering from marginal internal electrical performance.

The types of 'more severe' cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", etc.), including blinking power/exclamation lights, typically indicate the internal micro-electronics of the HP #60-61 cartridge are electrically damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure due to prolonged ink exposure and subsequent circuit corrosion. I suggest you always run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on C4600-C4700 models which use HP 60 cartridges. Printer will not print yellow or orange, but prints other colors correctly. Brand new lexmark cartridge.

> will not print yellow or orange

Yellow is one of the printer's "primary" colours.
Orange is mix of "red" and "yellow".

So, an empty "yellow" cartridge, or clogged ink-jets would cause your symptoms.

If you aren't currently, use the cartridge that the printer's manual says is for photos. Photo paper requires a different kind of ink.

The problem can be two fold. Wrong cartridges, or blocked/damaged inkjet openings. Return it to the seller under warranty if its brand new. If it was fitted with non epson cartridges your warranty may be in question.

But I could almost guarantee the black qand the blue cartridges are faulty or their feed jets are

Canon Pixma IP600D - error code 6502

Hello,

What is the brand name and model of your printer? Make sure that your ink cartridges are precisely the correct cartridges for the brand and model that you are using. From what I have experienced ... if you try to use a used ink cartridge you will recieve an error.

Losing Ink

Depending on how many times you have refilled the wells of the cartride the sensor inside may be going bad as the manufature of the cartridge only intended it for a one time use. My recommendation would be to buy a off brand compatible and refill those.
