How can i transfer the pictures on the cameras memory to my sd card.when the card is not installed it gives me the option to copy, however when the sd card is in the camera i cannot revert to the camera's memory. I cant find my USB lead to transfer directly onto the PC so the only way for me to get the pictures from camera to card is to transfer them somehow!!

Most cameras don't have enough internal memory to take more than 1 or 2 pictures internally. Picture transfer is normally accomplished via usb cord. The process begins when you plug in your usb and power on the camera. You have to navigate between internal memory and SD card in windows explorer.
I don't understand why you would want to transfer pictures from the computer to the camera. Normally you transfer pictures from the camera to the computer. But, if you really want to restore pictures to your camera's memory, you can remove the SD memory card from your camera and transfer the pictures on any computer equipped with an SD card reader/writer. These devices are built into most Apple computers, many PC's and are available as USB accessories for all other computers. I have seen them for under $20. When you connect the device and insert your camera's SC card, your computer will recognize the card and treat it as if it were another hard drive. You will be able to read or write or drag and drop picture files just as you would with any other file on your computer. By the way; most professional photographers use this method to transfer there photos rather then transferring them using a USB cable from the camera.
Hi Wendy, If you are using an external sd card, you can use an sd card reader. That is my favorite way of transferring pictures to my computer. They are cheap and you can take tons of pictures in high resolution. If you are using the on camera memory, you can connect with the usb cable to your computer and transfer that way. If you give me more info, maybe I can help. Here is a link to the manual for your camera.
The pictures that are stored on your camera memory cannot be transferred to the SD Memory Card. They must be downloaded to your computer first and then transferred via a card reader, if you intend to get them to the SD Memory Card. The two memory areas, internal and SD memory work separate of each other and the camera only operates from one. IF the system detect SD Memory than that is where the images are saved, if not, they automatically go to the internal memory.
You can do it through computer, using a memory card reader or there are many new laptops are with a inside memory card reader too, then you can transfer pictures from the camera memory and to the memory card.
Hi, I have the similar s8000fd and I transfer pics from internal memory by taking out the sd card then connect to a spare usb socket on computer, then switch camera on.
To transfer pics from internal memory to sd card - leave sd card in, switch on camera (playback mode), press menu, select copy, select 'internal memory to sd card', 'select frame' or 'all frames'. It should say 'copy ok?' Press OK.
there might not be a way of transferring picture within the camera. However the SD card _should_ have resolved the memory full issue. Plug the camera into a computer with its USB cable. Transfer the pictures to the computer and delete them off the internal memory. Assure that your SD memory card is functional by trying it in another camera or in the slot on a computer.
do you have the ability to attempt transfering the pictures onto another computer
