Question about Reddy Heater-30-55,000 BTU Variable

1 Answer

Types of fuels

I have a 35,000 btu Reddy Heater. I've had it for a number of years and it work fine. My questions is ---Do I have to use kerosene for the fuel? I thought I read that you can use type II fuels. If that is so, then what are type II fuels?

It could be a pressure problem, old fuel, clogged nozzle, etc. If you can furnish me with the correct model number, I will be able to help you further. Reply by using the Leave a Comment link.

Thanks

Problem: Will not spray fuel through nozze. Lines are not clogged. Have cheecked spark plug. It is firing. Special note: It is Series 35,000 Reddy Heater.

You can try adjusting the pump pressures, but it does sound more like the pump went out on you. Have you checked to see that the shaft to the pump is turning? I am not sure how that mates up with the motor be it a set screw, or coupling, but would check it over the pumps are generally not an issue.

Heater comes on fine runs 5 to 10 minutes and quits. sometimes it doesn't run that long

Are you using old fuel from last year? If so, drain/clean tank. Check/replace fuel filter. Refuel with fresh fuel & test again.

Reddy Heater Doesn't fully ignite

First thing I would do is clean all of your air and fuel filters and check your lines for breaks. A lot of times they will do that if your not getting enough air to fuel mix. If it continues after that it's the CAD/ flame sensor which you can get from MR. Heater for 3 bucks they are all basically the same and I know reddy heater wants 18 for the same thing.
