I have a stacking LG gas dryer, and when I turn it on, the "check filter" button on the top right blinks. When I start the dryer, the dryer is in cool down mode causing it to dry longer than normal. I have cleaned the lint pan, but cannot figure out what is continuing to go wrong. Any suggestions on what is the problem and how to reset the dryer so that it heats at full power?

The check filter light comes on every load to remind you to clean the lint filter. Cooling only happens when that light is flashing not when it's on solid. If this is a gas dryer check the exhaust hose and vent on the outside of the house. If it is blocked it will not let the unit get to the correct temp due to cycling.

my LG stacking dryer is brand new. first time using it. the check filter light came on. i forgot to put the filter back in after cleaning it. i start the dryer without it and a loud clanking noise follow right after. i check the vent/hose behind it. it's clean. can't figure it out. noise is still present.
