Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Notebook

Logging on This is my 12 year olds comp - the comp is stating "the group policy client service failed the logon - access is denied" upon trying to enter her password to log on - it didnt come with a system restore disk and when i contacted acer they said i could purchase a disk but then could not find it - i have tried to restore to an earlier date and nothing seems to work - the woman at acer said it has something to do with a safety feature with the password - i dont quite understand - i was going to take it to a computer repair shop but not sure if its worth it - can u help?

This is about all you can do.

  1. Reboot into Safe Mode and created another User Account with Administration privileges.
  2. when you get into Windows using the newly created account.
  3. Delete the user Account that was having the error.
  4. Create a new account for your child.

Sounds like you'll need to make another user account, then try to remove whatever rights the problem account has. THE GROUP POLICY CLIENT SERVICE FAILED


I wouldnt worry about it its only used on a corporate network for group policy downloads to your laptop.

If you are on a corporate network check the service dependencies in the services applet in control panel. It may be another service that has been disabled or failed that is preventing GPO client service from failing.

Are you able to get to the desktop in safe mode?
Repeatedly press F8 on startup and choose to boot to safe mode in the options window.

Hello.

Boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

Hp laptop unable to start


Hi if you flip your laptop may see that there is a squared cover with two screws remove the two screws and the cover at this time you will see the memory card it might be two or one remove the memory card make sure not touch the connector side of the memory. if have pencil eraiser clean the memory card connectors and clean it again with cotton bud with alcohol let dry. Reinstall it back and turn on you laptop. if this will not work your hard driver is the problem. Hope this info will help you solve the problem.

Cannot log on to laptop


What is your OS ?? If it is windows xp and you didnt setup admin password when your sysrem was instaled you can try restart your laptop, When will start rebooting wait till you see second boot screen and start pressing F8 when you will see emergancy menu click to save mode, Log on as Admin (not your name) and when system willl started go to: control panel,user accounts,logon as admin,go to your profile(account with your name) and press remove password. then restart your computer. Your password will be gone.
