Inside white porcelain paint has defects

Model: UMC5200BAS
Serial; 12216792NL

The inside white porcelain paint (roof) has several tiny grains (trapped under the paint during manufacture) which turn black with use and expose the underlying metal.

Paint is not porcelain. Porcelain is a glass like ceramic, far harder than paint. Unfortunately, most microwave cavities are still coated with paint, which is not durable.

Paint is not porcelain. Porcelain is a hard glass like ceramic. Unfortunately, most microwave cavities are still coated with paint, which is not durable. Hence, the all too common peeling, rusting and other cavity finish problems.

It should be sanded smooth and clean and dried thoroughly.

Then you can apply some high-temperature appliance paint, available from places like Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Builder's Square.

It's normally enamel on sheet metal, not porcelain.

Need to paint the inside of my 2001/240 v. Ge advanium what do you recommed

I wouldn't recommend painting it. The inside of the microwave is a box that allows microwaves to bounce around off those walls. If you paint the inside of your box you could have a serious fire hazard. I would send and e-mail to GE and see if they recommend anything that is microwave safe.

Paint chipped inside my microwave what kind of paint do i need to fix it?

You need to use a paint that is designed for microwave interiors. I tried copying some links to several websites that sell some but I was having issues with the links. I use a brand made by QB Products and you can Google it and find it on several appliance repair websites and you can also find it on Sears website. I have a can of Snow White paint & the part number is 98QBP0302, but I have also had other colors in the past. Hope this helps!

I have a samsung T.D.S micowave 800w model number mw76n-b. and the white has come away inside. I have only had it about a year

That is severe cavity rusting from under the painted surface. I would contact Samsung about a possible factory defect and exchange. Just from what I can see in the picture, It looks like it may have been rusted when they painted it or it is rusting from the other side that would be inside the micro body. Just my opinion so I don't know how Samsung will look at it.

Can I repaint a steel enamel finished sink? Has been scratched by clumsy wife!!

Yes you can. they make several products for this at the harware stores. You said enamel but are you refering to porcelain? To do the repair you will need porcelain repair compound and some high-gloss, alkyd-base paint that matches the color of the porcelain. if it is simply enamel then just match the color or repaint the whole sink using enamled paint. what you have to watch and worry about is if the repaired section will be contantly wet, if water gets under the paint it will bubble and flake off and make a mess. So the answer is yes but it may not be worth the trouble.

I'm getting a flash inside the oven and the plastic on the inside roof has a burn mark. I removed the plastic cover over the micro wave generator and it did not spark. is the oven dying? It is a 1983 0ver...

It looks like the metal part inside the oven is exposed to the high frequency rf waves. this may sound strange but try coating the metal part with fresh paint. remember no metal inside the oven will stand the waves created inside the oven the spark u see is the waves hitting the exposed metal part inside the oven
