I have a Panasonic 2.4GHz,model KX-TG2631AL,cordless phone. I never turn on the answring machine, the red light is always off when I go out, yet when I come home there are often messages left on my phone and the red light is flashing. How can I stop this phone from turning its answering machine on by itself? I have not set it up to save messages, yet it does it anyway. Can you please help me, I can't find any answer in the book. I press the button and it says answer off, yet it will frequently be back on again when I come back home. No one else is home to be turning it on, it does it by itself. Please help. Yvonne
Figure out how many times it takes for your phones answering machine to automatically turn on, then call your phone company and have them limit the number of times your phone rings. like say at 14 rings if it auto answers at 15 rings.

There is no solution aparently, I got in touch with panasonic and they said it will always go to the answring machine if it rings 15 times without being picked up.
