Re: Display problem wid a PS2.....
Hi there. Have you tried another set of cables ? They might be the issue. Other than that, check for a solid connection on the back of the TV where the cables are connected, and also on the PS2 itself. You might wanna try on another tv if it's possible for you.
If the issue is still there with another A/V cable, on another tv, and if the cables are connected firmly, the problem can be the video output controller on the PS2 mainboard that is going nuts. I've seen a such issue once, and the PS2 mainboard was going bad slowly. Solution was to, unfortunately, replace the PS2 :|
Hope that helps, cheebster.

This happens to me , Some games don't work on Some PS2 consoles for Example my friends Theme park world only works on a Slim PS2 and not a Proper Fat one , Wat type of PS2 do u have? and wat game r u trying to play?
You can adjust screen display settings while playing PlayStation 2. Press the PS button on the Wireless Controller during gameplay and then select [Settings], adjust the following settings.
Normal: Set to upscale and display at a size that matches the screen size.
Full Screen: Set to upscale and display at full screen by changing proportions and stretching the image.
This setting can be selected only when [Normal] or [Full Screen] is selected under Settings > [Game Settings] > [PS / PS2 Upscaler].
The problem is all in the settings. You probably have a 1080i television that cannot display in 1080p. To fix this go to the main menu and go to:
Then Blu Ray Disc and make it turn the Display BD in 1080p 24hz or whatever. Once you do that, start the Blu Ray Disc again, and you should be able to watch it. This all happened because your tv doesn't display 1080p.
is u r ps2 modify if yes than try this
turn off u r ps2 and press 2 buttons togather trangle and cercle now turn it on u get one menu in u r screen and in first line of menu u get ntsc wrriten press X buttons u get it change turn it in pal o r ntsc
now press start button in u r joy stick it will display setting saved now turn off ps2 and turn it on now u get colours in u r games . REMEMBER U R PS2 SHOULD BE MODIFY SO U CAN DO ABOVE SETTINGS
WITH MODBO 3.0 IC IT WILL DISPLAY MATRIX WHEN U GET IT START U R PS2
There are probably a few problems here. What are you using to play the disc? Some NTSC players will "play" a PAL disc but interpret it as NTSC with the symptom you are describing. You need a DVD player that will play PAL. Many of those will output NTSC directly when set up to do so. The other alternative is to have a PAL compatible player that will output PAL into the converter. To narrow this down specifically, please post the model numbers and the connection scheme for your equipment. Once I understand your current setup, I should be able to describe a method to get this to work for you.
What type of TV are you hooking the cables too?
Most likely the TV settings will need to changed to one of the following. TV1 or TV2 using the input button on the remote, or channel 3 or 4. It depends the set up of the TV
After more checking around I found out this is not an uncommon problem with the wii. Apparently there is a design flaw that causes the graphics card to overheat, which creates various types of distortion. It may have something to do with using wiiconnect24. I am sending my wii back to nintendo for repairs.
Unlike the PS2 original, PS2 slim doesnt have a fan.
Playing it for 2 days, it most likely overheated and burnt something inside. I would return the console and get a replacement, if you have warrently.
