My Motherboard will not load Windows XP.

Sounds as if you're ide or sata controller has failed I your motherboard. Might also check your bios settings and make sure the drive ports are enabled. If your cmos battery is dead and the system lost power then it could have changed the settings back to factory defaults.

At boot-up I get "invalid

1) Go into your bios by pressing the Delete key.
2) Navigate to boot disk priority.
3) Set this to Primary master disk drive (The drive that your operating system is installed on.
4) The save and exit.

This should stop the message from coming up and solve your problem.

My Phillips web cam doesnt work anymore. BTW I have a Japanese Windows XP When trying to load my driver the it loads up to about 44 percent and then stops. install shield wizard says component transfer...

Good day sir/maam, if the driver does't finish loading, means that the CD or the CD drive is the culprit. try to use the CD on another PC. copy the files to a flash drive (just make sure you get a good copy). then bring the copy to your PC. load the driver again.
If still wont load. problem with the XP, reinstall your XP again. scan your files with antivirus and also all your flash drives. Reinstall your driver. just make sure your PC is virus free.

WONT LOAD WINDOWS ON NEW DRIVE

Start or restart your computer. At the Sony screen, press the [Delete] key or whatever key the Sony screen says to make changes. This should take you to the BIOS. Across the top, choose "BOOT" or "BOOT ORDER" and make your optical drive (CD/DVD drive) first. That way, the Windows install disk will get to run first. Press F10 to save and exit. Make sure the Windows install disk is in the drive and follow the prompts to install windows on the restart.

You need to download the SATA driver for your hard drive to a readable disk and reinstall xp and when the xp installation ask if you need to install 3rd party driver tap F6 and load the driver from the readable disk you put the drivers on,(This cannot be done on the same drive that contains the xp install disk since removing the disk would stop the installation)I recommend a usb drive,But you will need to enable boot from usb device in the bios first.Or if you have a floppy drive That would work too.

My system doesnt boot from the PATA drive

Sort of obvious (judging by the stuff you tried) but, Did you try going into the BIOS setup and making sure the hard disk is the first boot device? (if its lower than something else, say a windows hard disk, it'll load windows instead, etc.) If not something is wrong with your linux boot file, and the BIOS can't read/understand it, try reloading linux onto the hard disk.

How can I setup sata drivers using cd or dvd

Hi, I think the problem lies with your bios setting. Set the POST to first boot from the CD/DVD drive. If it is set to first boot from the CD/DVD drive, then the problem comes from the disk. It might not be a bootable disk. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks, Mike H

Disk boot failure when I installed a new SATA DVD writer

Start the system & enter you're bios & use you're manual to help guide you on this. Go to the Boot section of the bios. You can set the boot order. Normal boot order is like this:
1st boot device, floppy disk (if one is connected).
2nd boot device, cdrom drive
3rd boot device, hard drive
(Drive the has windows installed on it).
Save & exit the bios. The system will restart & windows should load. If it does not, than you picked the wrong hard drive.

Good luck!
Mike

Can not install windows xp

hubag, you need to check your bios. At boot up, press the delete key every 2 seconds & your bios will load. Make sure your SATA drive, (s) are listed example: {if your SATA drive is a Seagate the bios will show it as: ST3250823AS}. You should unplug any IDE hard drives connected to the system while installing Win XP. The Southbridge integrates a Serial ATA host controller that is SATA v1.0 compliant, supporting Ultra DMA 150 (SiS964 only). If you do not have your manual you can download it here at:
http://www.ecsusa.com/ECSWebSite/Downloads/ProductsDetail_Download.aspx?detailid=392&DetailName=Manual&DetailDesc=&CategoryID=1&MenuID=6&LanID=9
661FX-M(V1.0B)
Once the bios is set & see's your SATA drive so will windows.
If you can not set your bios to list your SATA drive windows will never install on your SATA drive. You can also use the above link & down load drivers, including a RAID driver.
