Display Driver Stopped working and has successfully recovered!

But it keeps happening! Its so frustrating, as my laptop freezes so I know when its going to happen. Im not sure if its over-heating or its because Im usually on my web cam when it happens. It freezes, screen goes black flashes back on sometimes a few times before I close everything and it stops. An error message pops up sying "display driver zxguebbv (not actual letters cant remember em!) has stopped working but has successfully recovered" and a little yellow triangle with an exclaimation mark is on task bar. I downloaded flash player to see if it helps and tried to download DirectX but told me I had to try again later. Any info would be fab! Thanks :o) - otherwise my laptop will be in pieces by the end of the week lol I have the same problem and my computer is new and no where near it's memory capacity so there must also be another reason for this annoying error.

sorry I only typed out the last line on my post. fixya added the rest on for some reason.

My query is regarding the nvlddmkm driver not responding and I know it isn't due to overheating. Sorry about the confusion I did ask fixya to edit it but still not done.

Sounds like a common over-heating issue. Make sure your laptop is getting enough air circulation, both under and around the unit. Most laptops draw air from underneath and displace it out the sides or rear. Places like carpets, lounge chairs and beds cause the laptop to sink into them and prevent the vents and fans from drawing in cool air. To prevent this, try placing a firm board or other object under the laptop when using it in such places. If this doesn't work, try to observe if the fans are working correctly, if they aren't noticeably running or seem to quiet, then a faulty power cord or thermostat on the heat sinks may be the problem.

Weak heat at best

you may have a problem with the heater core flap that allows coolant into the core. seems like there is just not enougg coolant going through the core. check to make sure the heat/cool selector is working properly.

When playing on fightnight champions, the game keeps freezing, then the console shuts down, ive checked for over heating but its not even warm when this happens, it also freezes when im on fifa 11

Hi ironboy,

If your PS3 is freezing up then you need to stop the heat build up internally and to do this you will need to get it repaired.

Now you can send it in and they will fix it for you that is the standard method however bear in mind that there will be a repair charge of $150 for the fix which is quite steep!

The other way that you can fix it is by using a good PS3 Repair guide.

Just a quick word of advice though, make sure you check out these reviews of the top guides so you can be sure what they offer.

Hope this helps.

My computer will turn on fine but if u leave it for say 20 min or even if im using it sometimes my computer will freeze completly and the harddrive just turns off because my computer remains on but ctrl...

Sounds like the problem could be heat related. Do you run your laptop in a pillow or blanket or anything like that? Make sure it's on a hard, flat surface.

Make sure the air intake and exhaust holes aren't blocked by anything (including excessive dust particles). You could try and get a "can of air" and spray out the dust if you suspect there is a lot (ie. in a dusty or smoky environment). Make sure there is warm air coming out the back of the notebook so you know it's exhausting the heat properly.

My thinkpad cursor keeps freezing. It'll work for a little while then freezes. I'm connected to my work via a vpn. Not sure if that's relevant.

I have had the same problem happen. Lenovo released software updates for the Trackpoint and Nav system, on as recently as November ( shortly after my problem started to happen). I updated my laptop with one of them and plan on updating with the remaining. So far, the problem has not happened.
Try them too. Let me know how it works out.

Your computers are running out of memory. Try to close any programs or processes that are not required. If you need to multitask while using video you can try to upgrade your ram. This is listed last but try this first. Search online for updated drivers and install them first.

There's a chance it's still the memory slots. You know, they are located directly beneath the hard drive.
Just a thought.
good luck
