Unplugging the power cord makes no differenxe. It's like the system isn't even trying to boot. When powering on, the disk light comes on with no indication of activity.
If you get NOTHING on the monitor, First, Replace CMOS battery, Reseat Memory Mods, If that fails, remove HDD, test. You say the HDD LED is on? Or the Power LED is on? Which, What is the location of the LED? The on/off button or the HDD LED? It could be a bad PSU, your computer is getting a bit long in the tooth, right?
