Question about Western Digital My Book Essential Edition (WDG1U5000N) 500 GB Hard Drive
I had Windows Vista and it inexplicably crashed (imagine that). So I searched the retailers far and wide for a copy of xp and to much delight I found a copy of Professional. Well thats all fine and dandy but my E: drive says my access is denied. I know it has to do with all the ownership and atrribute BS that has to do with vista but I was wondering if there was any way to bypass that because I have very critical info and programs that I need. Please help my ease my mind!!! By the way I'm technically savvy so use your "gifted" words freely!
Check Sharing & User Permissions Vista loved to set user access rights on drives. This forum may help.

If this does not help let me know. I will help you do it the old DOS way. Good Luck.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I tried the unlocker software and it didn't work I guess a cmd line fix is the only way to do it. Thanks for trying though.
Need the cmd line stuff
