Question about Canon PIXMA iP5000 InkJet Photo Printer
My printer's green light flashes continuously, and it does not respond to the on/off or any button. On-screen, I have a message "The printer is updating the firmware. Turn the printer off and then back on. if this message appears again, update the firmware once more." I tried that - it made no difference. I have used the printer for a year or so with no previous problem.
Try removing power supply to printer for 15 minutes....same problem when re-powered? If so, then the firmware has been spammed and must be updated. Contact Canon tech support.

This is not a solution but rather a question- the Canon tech support wants me to share my computer screen with them. That sounds weird. Have you tried this? Is it legitimate?
