Question about Gateway M-6866 15.4" Widescreen Laptop Blue PC Notebook
I sent my laptop to have it serviced because i. it used to freeze randomly when using the internet, using word or any other program ii. the system filechecker found corrupt files it could not fix. Using the full factory recovery option did not help.
All they did is reload the OS. NOTHING ELSE. Now, I get it back and here is the result:
i. the laptop STILL freezes ii. the system filechecker STILL finds corrupt files it cannot fix.
Most annoyingly, many other customers are complaining about the same problem on the internet.... So this is not just me. Any suggestions? Gateway wants me to send the laptop back again - I will do it but after the surprising service I got the first time I am skeptic about their service
If you are still having file corruption problems after a full restore, i am willing to bed you have a bad hard drive. it's possible you can repair the corrupted sectors with chkdisk, but you will mostly likely have to have a new hard drive put in.
