    Ray,

Have tried all of this before and have done what you suggested except for moving lever up as this printer (HP 6940) does not have lever and I just checked it out again.

Nowhere is a lever referenced in all the manuals and Hp has instruted me to do just what you said except for the lever

    Thanks

    Dick

    Ray,

Did you get my reply about doing everything you suggested except for moving lever as the HP 6940 does not have a lever that I can find.

    Thanks

    Ray,

Question this printer shows a picture of banner paper on paper tray and shows instructions for loading paper and does take paper in and print each sheet as banner paper would but it just doesn't seem to have right format as all sheets are printed but just not right through the page breaks.

have intefaced with HP verbally and it seems they would have told me it was not compatible with banners ifit were not.

    Thanks

    Dick

The banner lever does not match the setting in the printer driver. Solution 1. Click the File menu in the software application that you are using. 2. Select Print. 3. Select Properties. (If you do not see Properties, click Options or Setup, and then click Properties.) 4. Click the Setup tab. 5. Click Banner. 6. In the Paper Size box, select A4 or Letter. 7. Click the Select Paper Type button. 8. Select Specialty Papers and HP Banner Paper. 9. Move the banner lever to the up position (it is located next to the paper tray). Ray

How do I stop the test page from ALWAYS printing from my WorkCentre 7120 printer?

If I am not wrong you are asking about Banner Sheet? I guess. close all your open applications and go to Device and printers, then right click on the 7120 printer and select printing preferences, then go to advanced Tab. select + next to Paper / output. you will see (print ID on Banner Sheet) select it and go for the option Disable job ID. make your changes save by pressing ok.

We are having problems printing a 10' x 42" banner on our Epson 10000 plotter. We are using a Xante Symphony RIP networked to the Plotter. For some reason it stops printing at approx. 76% (3/4) of...

STEVE you have to print it as a tiled image. there is an update on the epson website for this issue. basicly anything over 90" you have to tile as two images split in half with no border in between if that makes sense. they explain it well in the update. when its something 120" x 36" lets say i run the set up at 36 x 60 then go to the page set up and there should be a box for tie image when you preview it again it shows the tiled image put back to back. you also have to tell it toreverse the print. i use adobe cs2 illustrator and it works well.

My Lexmark 4600 printer has a paper jam. do not know how to unjam it.

Hi,

How to clear and avoid paper jams
Follow these instructions to remove and/or avoid paper jams and misfeeds in your Lexmark X3500, X4500, X4600 & X4800 Series All-In-One.
Paper jam in the printer
Remove the paper manually

  1. Press pattlnk_10282008_1820-power-icon.gif to turn off the printer.

  2. Firmly grasp the paper, and gently pull it out.

  3. Press pattlnk_10282008_1820-power-icon.gif to turn the printer back on.

NOTE: Check inside the printer to ensure that all the paper is removed. Any small pieces of paper left in the printer will continue to cause paper jams.

Paper or specialty media misfeeds
These are possible solutions if paper or specialty media misfeeds or skews, or if multiple sheets feed or stick together.
Try one or more of the following:
Check paper condition

  • Use only new, unwrinkled paper.

Check paper loading

  • Load a smaller amount of paper into the printer.

  • Load paper with the print side facing you. (If you are not sure which side is the printable side, see the instructions that came with the paper.)

Remove each page as it is printed

  • Remove each page as it exits, and let it dry completely before stacking.

Adjust the paper guides

  • When using media less than 8.5 inches wide

  • To rest against the edges of the paper or media, making sure it does not buckle

Printer does not feed paper, envelopes, or specialty media
These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following:
Check for paper jams

  • Check for and clear any paper jams. For more information, see "Paper jam in the printer" and "Paper jam in the paper support" above.

Check media loading

  • Verify that the specialty media is loaded correctly.

  • Try loading one page, envelope, or sheet of specialty media at a time.

Check printer default and pause settings

  1. Click:
    • In Windows XP (default Start menu): Start pattlnk_10282008_1829-right-arrow.gif Printers and Faxes.

You did not list the model number, but usually you go to Start>Settings>Printers and Faxes and right click on the Xerox Printer and choose properties. Go to the ADVANCED tab and choose Printing Defaults. Now look at the Advanced tab in this window and select Paper/Output. Look for Banner sheet and choose disable. Apply and save and exit.

I have a HP Deskjet 9800. It' doesn't want to print 11x17 size paper. It will feed an 11x17 sheet but nothing printed on it, after that the paper feed light blinks, and eventually the printing task bar...

I can't tell you for sure which thing I tried and worked, but I noticed the USB cable looked slightly damaged, so I switched it out. But the thing that I actually think did it was that I was using the A3 size paper because there was no 11x17 paper size with the exception of a banner 11x17, which I didn't try becuase I wasn't creating a banner.
But none the less, that did it.

Printing issue..please help

That sounds like a banner sheet, in your menus, Specifically a print menu you will find a section with reports, it should be caled banner sheet.
They may have another name for it. But disable that. Also go ont the driver on your computer and look to turn the banner sheet off.
Some call it a print acrivity sheet also.
make sure those pages are turned off on both the printer and on the print driver on the computer.

Printing problem

ISSUE: A blank page prints after every print job using an HP LaserJet series printer. SOLUTION: A separator page may be turned on in the printer driver, within the application, or on the network. Try printing from several applications. If a page prints out in only one application, that application may have a summary page selected to print out. If a page prints out from different applications, a separator page may be turned on in Windows or on the network. Use the following sections to turn off separator pages. Windows 95/98/Me Follow these steps to turn off the separator page in Windows 95/98/Me:
  1. Select Start .
  2. Select Settings .
  3. Select Printers .
  4. Highlight the appropriate HP LaserJet printer icon.
  5. Select File .
  6. Select Properties .
  7. In the section labeled Separator Page, select None .
  8. Click Apply .
  9. Click OK .
Windows NT 4.0/2000 Follow these steps to turn off the separator page in Windows NT4.0/2000
  1. Select Start .
  2. Select Settings .
  3. Select Printers .
  4. Highlight the appropriate HP LaserJet printer icon.
  5. Select File .
  6. Select Properties .
  7. In the Advanced tab, select the Separator Page button.
  8. Delete the location for the separator page.
  9. Select OK .
Windows XP Follow these steps to turn off the separator page in Windows NT4.0/2000
  1. Select Start .
  2. Select Settings .
  3. Select Printers and Faxes .
  4. Highlight the appropriate HP LaserJet printer icon.
  5. Right-click on the highlighted printer icon and select Properties from the Advanced tab.
  6. In the Advanced tab, select the Separator Page button.
  7. Delete the location for the separator page.
  8. Select OK .
Software or applications See documentation for the specific application that is printing a separator page. The following steps are an example of how to turn off the summary page in Microsoft(R) Word 97:
  1. Open Word 97 .
  2. Select File .
  3. Select Print .
  4. Select Options .
  5. Deselect Document Properties in the Include with Document section.
  6. Select OK .
Novell environments Banner pages can be sent to the printer in several different ways in a Novell environment. The following instructions detail several ways to disable the banner page. NOTE: Banner pages can also be sent from the HP Jetdirect device itself. This page can be enabled and disabled through a telnet session to the HP Jetdirect device. The telnet banner will only print in an lpd/unix ® environment. Novell's Capture Command To disable a banner page using a Novell DOS capture command at a system prompt, type the following commands: capture L=x Q=queuename NFF NB NT TI=x where:
  • L = x -- The value of x would be 1, 2 or 3 depending on the lpt port being used.
  • Q = queuename - The value of the queuename would be the Novell queue setup for this printer.
  • NFF -- No form feed.
  • NB -- No Banner.
  • NT -- No Tabs
  • TI = x -- The value of x would be the timeout amount in seconds. NOTE: If the client workstation is restarted, and if a capture command is part of a login script that is being used, these settings will be reset.
Printer Properties The banner page for Novell networks can also be enabled or disabled in the Printer Properties using the following steps:
  1. To open the Printers Folder ; click Start , Settings, and Printers .
  2. Right-click the appropriate HP LaserJet printer icon and select Properties .
  3. Select the Printer Settings , or Capture Settings tab. The banner page can be enabled or disabled here.
NetWare Clients Follow these steps to disable the banner page for Novell NetWare clients:
  1. Right-click Network Neighborhood and select Properties .
  2. Select the Configuration tab in the Network window.
  3. Highlight Novell NetWare Client and select Properties .
  4. Select the Default Capture tab. The banner can be enabled or disabled here.
