L cannot get my computer to recognise my mp3 player- l need to delete some albums so l can fit more songs on

This mp3 player recognize only original music(songs) format I have earlier heard about that is why every thime the software which is using for itself not let it connect to pc
Do the following
if you are using windows xp 32 bit then change it to 64 bit
if using Apple I mac then work on panther
and try to play only originals songs in to it if you dont have originals then by using any kind of sound editing software you can change your local songs to original format like .WAV

Not recognising in computers

You need to have Windows Media Player 11 instaled or else it won't recognise it.

Music seconds dont start counting and theres no sound!

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

Unable to play songs on the Alba 512 mb Mp3 Player

Managed to fix it !

Windows XP or any other version had an issue in completely recognising the media player.
Every time I would plug in the MP3 players, Windows would show that a new hardware has been plugged in and try to set-up the drivers. It would also breifly recognise it as being a music player and assign drive E: and F: to it. However every-time I would try and select the E: or the F: drive to inspect its contents Explorer would hang-up and crash.

So I re-did this in MS Dos prompt mode. i.e. for thos who are not familiar do the following :

ClicK Start - Run - and type cmd to bring up the command prompt

then type cd\
and go to the root C:

Plug in the MP3 player and wait for the detection. Once detected on the C:\ prompt

Type Format E:\

Be Very Very Careful that you don't type ***** Format C: ***** otherwise that would be the end of your hard drive and all the data :-)

After the E:/ has finished formatting the control should return back to the C:\ prompt from where you would be able to type E:/ and go the E: drive

Unplug and plug the mp3 player again and now windows should be able to detect the player properly and not hang-up.

You may have just lost all the songs on the mp3 player but now the player is back into life. So start copying your songs and enjoy your player !

Good-Luck.

When i put the usb in the computer it doesnt connect

I would suggest that first you make sure that your computer is updated with Service Pack 2 or 3, DirectX9 or higher, and Windows Media Player 10 or higher. To do this, I went to Start -- Control Panel -- Windows Update. Then downloaded and installed all updates as required.

Secondly, I downloaded the codec for the portable device. To do this I pluged the MP3 Player into the USB port (still not recognised), went to Start -- Control Panel -- Printers and Other Hardware -- Add Hardware and this prompted the Hardware wizard. Clicked "Next" and selected YP-U3 from the list. Then selected "Install Automatically" and Voila! The codec was downloaded and the portable was recognised.

Doesnt start up

Hi. My Inovix mp3/4 player suffered a similar fate when it crashed during a Firmware reload. The player went completely dead and wasn't even recognised by the computer when plugged into the USB port. I basically kept on trying - a couple of times whenever I used the computer - using different ports. 2 days later - 'ding-dong' - Windows XP suddenly recognised something was in the port, and I tentatively attempted a Firmware reload. Success! (Don't ask me to explain it tho'...)
