You can try this things;

  1. Unplug your or disconnect from the internet then run your spyware and anti-virus softwares.
  2. Do a System Restore to a date before you downloaded Firefox
  3. Turn your Virus protection on for future prevention
  4. Turn your Windows Firewall on for future prevention
Or you can try and download various free downloads for anti-hijack, registry cleaners:

Try changing your homepage to what you want it to be. if it keeps reverting back to that or won't let you change it at all - i seem to remember an adware infection called search save or cool savings (something to that effect). If that's the case you will need some sort of virus/adware removal tool to get rid of it or you can reinstall windows.

hope this helps

I can NOT download ANYTHING not even the fixya what can be the problem?

Hey Charlie, try the following:

  • Make sure you have the most up-to-date version of your browser by checking the version under "Help-About" in the menus.
  • go to links below for Internet Explorer and Firefox and Chrome
  • Download Web Browser Internet Explorer
  • Download Firefox Free Web Browser
  • Get fast free web browser (Google Chrome)
  • You might also use the above links to install a new browser to see if that makes a difference in downloading.
  • If you still cannot download even from these sites, try to right-click on the link and select the "Save link as..." option from the menu that pops open and try saving it to your desktop.
This is the simplest start to your solution because I am not able to look at your computer. I hope it helps!

My computer at start up is very slow, when I check on it my CPU is running 100%, which is why I figure it is so slow to come on line. How do I get rid of of junk on the start up?

1. You will have to clear your cache folder and your history in either IE ( Internet Explorer) and also download a program called "CCleaner: ( free) and this will allow you to do all the above in one fell swoop. Use the Google search engine to find.
2. Then download Windows Essentials ( anti-virus) from Microsoft ( free) to get rid of the malware and other unwanted programs that are slowing your PC down.
Here is the site instructions set for the "security Essentials":

Update of avg softwears

Older versions of AVG won't update anymore. What you should do is uninstall your old version and download the latest version.

The firefox issue may be solved by uninstalling firefox. You could also try to download a newer version of firefox and install it.

You may set Internet Explorer as your default browser by starting it and choosing 'internet options' from the 'extra' menu. At the 'programs' tab there should be a possibility to set Internet Explorer as standard browser.

Personally, Internet explorer just doesn't cut it for a lot of my websites. I've actually had the same exact problem. I've all but completely switched to Firefox web browser. It's backwards compatible with almost every site I've ever visited and I've noticed many fewer crashes.

Try firefox at www.firefox.com and see if that works better for you. The best thing about this browser is, the site I visit that must be viewed with internet explorer are viewable. They have a downloadable add-on that lets you run internet explorer in a firefox tab. :)

I hope this helps out, but other then my idea there isn't much you're going to be able to do. If their banking tools won't allow IE8, then you've gotta bite the bullet and use something else.

Warning Box.

It sounds like it is a maleware issue, I would recommend downloading Spyware begone and a anti virus tool, and running both of these,

otherwise it could be an issue with your browser, try a different web browser. eg.. Firefox.
