You cant boot from cd. Try changing the boot order in the BIOS and allow the CD to have ownership over the Harddisk Drive. This way the computer is forced to boot from the CD.

Download Ultimate Boot CD 2008. From the Menu which appears select Partition Magic....from here you can prepare your disk for any OS our there including Windows/ms-dos. You can also destroy the MFT and it's backup and write a new MBR....if you want to take it that far..

My Toshiba AC/DC Adapter model number ADP-75SB AB for my satellite computer is not working anymore. I have tried different troubleshooting efforts but all have been unsuccessful in getting my computer to...

Hello,

Is the ac adapter detected?

If YES, and it doesn't charge the battery, but it turns ON the laptop it means that the battery is the one not holding a charge.

If NO. Try to change the power cord that goes to the wall (that part is detachable) with good known power cord. If it does the same then definitely there's a problem with the ac adapter. You can contact the Toshiba sales department (1-800-8674422) or toshiba direct (1-800-3160920).

If the computer powers ON, both ac adapter and battery are detected but no display, then the problem is the system board.

What are the maximum limit to increase the hd,ram, prossesor in sattelite u100 toshiba notebook 2005

Your model has room for one expansion memory module. Toshiba typically came configured with one static module. The memory specification is very likely DDR PC2700. The maximum size available for one memory module of DDR PC2700 is 1 GB. The HD size is only limited by what you can find with a PATA (IDE) interface, typically 320 GB. Installing a new processor may be prohibitively expensive, and the speed would depend on BIOS support. The BIOS may support the fastest Pentium IV processor, @ 3 GHz.

A link for a 320 GB drive, @ $96.28 (shipped) is here.

I push the on button and nothing happens. is it

Hello,

Even though a lot of things might have gone wrong and caused this, especially if where you place the System is not well ventilated, and the CPU becomes very hot, it shuts down automatically...and you will have to wait for a few moments, get a cool environment and power it on. but I will also try and tell you some troubleshooting steps that you can try.

Since you have already checked the power source and all is Ok, then try this out:

Disconnect your PowerPack(Power Supply Unit) from the CPU and try to power your PC with another Power Pack (Power Supply Unit), that you are very sure is working.

If it powers up, then just get a new Power Pack(Power Supply Unit) for system.

If you cant do this yourself, just get a good technician to do it for you.

Try this first and let me know how it goes, so as to know the next step.

Hope this helps.
Goodluck!

There is an amber light that says on when my Toshiba Satellite L505-S6946 laptop is unplugged and (presumably) turned off. Anyone know what that means, and how to turn it off. Why don't they include...

you can get your manual, drivers and stuff here too

http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/modelContent.jsp?ct=DL&os=&category=&moid=2346343&rpn=PSLL0U&modelFilter=L505-S6946&selCategory=3&selFamily=1073768663

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know if this will help but a service manual is here to purchase this may explain what the amber light is for, though normally an amber light signifies standby mode

You may have completely drained your battery which it will need a full recharge before it will work again.

Toshiba p-200

try another wall outlet first. if it still doesn't turn on. then you going to need a meter in order for you determine if the power supply is at fault.
put the postive (red) lead to the positive side of the power supply output lead (+) and the negative to the negative. if your read 12V on the meter. the power supply is good.
if the power supply is good. then, take out the battery out of the laptop. push and hold the power button on the laptop for 20sec (resetting the laptop). replace the battery and the AC. if that don't work. then you have other power problem.

please email me (frcs68@hotmail.com) if any additional question you may have.

thank you

Mx35 no power

Hi, can you use a multimeter? If so then check on the power suply what the voltage output should be for that unit. Then with the power turned on GREAT CAUTION MUST BE TAKEN AT THIS STAGE AS TESTING THE WRONG END COULD CAUSE ELECTROCUTION use the meter to test the laptop end plug only and see what power output you have. If you can not do this then take the power supply to a technician and have it tested. If ok = dead battery, if not replace power unit. Regards mistyman
