Question about Philips GoGear HDD6330 MP3 Player

1 Answer

MP3 player refuses to remove deleted songs

My husband got a Philips gogear for Christmas. He loaded about 90 songs on it. The player doubled and tripled some of the songs so it now lists as 180ish songs on the player yet my Rhapsody and through My Computer listed each only once. We decided to delete the whole thing and start fresh. Rhapsody and My Computer both show no songs yet the player itself still says in has 180ish. It tries to play the songs and says file not supported and skips and skips searching for a playable song. Help, how do I truly start fresh?

Don't know why it doubled loaded them but I noticed the reset on the side and thought it was worth a try. Hit reset and it cleared all the songs from the list that I had deleted.

Try removing the songs this way:
Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio Books, etc. from MP3 Player
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that
you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want,
release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now your mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.

Deleting files

You have to plug the mp3 player into the computer, double-click My Computer, double click on the icon of the GoGear, and then go into the Music folder - exercise caution: only delete music files - if you delete files that are non-music files, you will effectively destroy your GoGear.

Windows Media Player is more complex, but it is a safer way to delete songs:

Uninstall music from sa3124

Insert mp3 player/usb into computer. Double-click on My Computer. Double-click on the icon of the Philips Go Gear. Delete ONLY the song files from the Music folder. Do not delete anything other than song files, or your mp3 player will become unusable.
