Question about Gateway DX300X PC Desktop

Gateway crashed used disks to restore. Everything works except no

Had to restore my gateway DX300X with the support disks.

All went find .....except....I have no audio.

I bought a dvd 5 with drivers but that still hasn't helped...

why can't I get audio???????

You need to reinstall the driver right click my computer properties and hardware then device scroll and see if audio driver shows at all anything that has ? or ! click and update
let me know if this helped you may need to get the driver yourself through add new hardware

You need the driver specifically for your card in your computer get it from gateway's website

If you don't have the correct audio driver on your recovery discs and can't find them on gateway's web site there's one other thing to do - make sure you are current with your windows updates. in most cases i've seen, driver updates for most devices will be included in these updates - i rely on it a lot of computers i work on, especially gateways since they are annoying to find drivers for.

Gateway dx300 hard drive


Gateway DX300 Desktop PC is a series.

Could be a Gateway DX300MC, or DX300QS, or DX300S, or DX300X,

Fortunately all models in the series use a SATA harddrive.

All models came with a Western Digital harddrive, but it doesn't matter what the harddrive manufacturer is, that you use ]

What size in GB amount? Depends on what you want. I myself wouldn't go more than 320GB.
That is because your anti-virus program has to sift through the harddrive.

The larger the harddrive, the longer it takes.

For more capacity, I would install a 1TB harddrive into an external enclosure, and use it connected to the computer, with it's USB cable.
(It will also come with an additional external power supply)

But that is just me.

Bear in mind that a new harddrive has no Operating System on it.
You have to purchase a genuine copy of Windows, and install it.
(This is if your harddrive presently on that Gateway is bad)

I bought my laptop used. I accidentally deleted programs that I'm not sure of now & my comp crashed. I have no recovery disk.


Try to boot with a windows cd. Go into repair and use a restore point to restore the system files

Installed new hard drive (old one crashed) no sound now


You need another sound system. If it's xp it is probably ac 97. However; go to windows update, make sure you have all of the updates. Then go to the control panel, device manager and look for a yellow question mark or a yellow exclamation mark, if there, right click and click update driver or click uninstall from the system, restart the computer and windows will look for the drivers, just follow on screen directions.

My Gateway GM5664 crashed. I have no restore point and no internet and no restore disks. What can I do?


TRY TO REMOVE HARDDISK FROM GM5664 THEN INSTALL ON TO ANY OTHER PC AS SECONDARY MASTER. FROM HERE YOU CAN RECOVERY YOUR DATA . IF THIS ANSWER IS HELPFUL PLESAE RATE .

My computer is frozen it wont boot up


AAAAA !!! computer crashed. ok here is how to fix it. without buying a windows disk for $300.00 or paying someone $200.00 to fix it. i warn you your going to lose everything but re start your computer and keep hitting F10 this will do a full system restore. and from there it will walk you through processes and then it will bring your computer back to the way it was when you first brought it home. unless you have a restore point. to restore it to before the computer crashed

Playstation console wont turn on


If the system crashed probable that sony change everything to factory set up and you must set up again everything on set up menu.BTW too many players have got problem with that game
