Go to 192.168.2.1 in your web browser. It will ask you for a password when you get into the setup page. If you did not set a password, just click on the submit button.
The go to security under the wireless on the left hand side. You should see the key there.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

The WEP / WAP key is the encryption security key used to prevent unauthorised access to a wireless network. This key is required by all computers connected via wireless to a network.

The key is stored on the router itself in the Wireless Security Settings, if you own the network you would have had to setup the key yourself as this is not done by the manufacture. If you don't own the network but are allowed to access the network you will need to contact the owner for the Wireless key.

If it is a case that you are the owner but have forgotten the key simply restore the router to the manufacturing defaults by holding the reset for about 20 to 30 seconds. This will remove the key, but you should setup a new key to pervent unauthorized usuage.

The wep key has to be created on the router so if you didn't set it up then you need to ask the person who did what it is. Assuming that it is your router and you lost or forgot the key then you can get into the router with a computer that is hardwired to the router. So you plug your laptop into the router and open up internet explorer. In the address bar you need to put in the router's address (Ex: linksys is 192.168.1.1) this will pull up the router menu default login is admin and password admin or root. (if these have been changed then you can push in the reset button on the back but this will wipe out everything and you'll have to set it up again, not preferable.) If you have another router then you can get online on another computer and look these default codes up for your router. If these work then you are in the menu and you can go to security section and create a new wep (or take it off completely again not preferable) make sure to save the changes you have made before getting out of the menu and write down the wep you created or save it in a word doc. Now you can unhook your laptop and try to connect wirelessly when it asks for a wep put in the key you created, reenter it and hit connect and you should be good to go.

How do i find my wep key or wpa key

Network security key
Some later model wireless routers have the Password(ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router andthis information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card and wireless adaptersin your computer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then it can be changed to suit yourrequirements.
The encryption key secures your data and wireless connection from unauthorizedaccess. To configure the wireless settings in the router, connect a LAN cablefrom your computer to the wireless router, then open a Browser on your computerand enter the router's configuration IP address, then enter the admin login andpassword and then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID andEncryption key.
The router's encryption key can be a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA or WPA2key.If you use the Passphrase method select either WEP or WPA or WPA2 togenerate the encryption key. You can enter the WEP or WPA or WPA2 key with 8 to63 ASCII characters or 64 Hex digits.
Most people use Passphrase which is easier to remember eg. I was born inJanuary 1988.
The strongest and latest security is WPA2, the weakest and oldest is WEP. To connect to your wireless router from the computer/laptop,configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wirelesssettings ie SSID, plus the WPA or WPA2 encryption key. Then computer/laptopscan communicate with your wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r10267861-network_security_key

Need wap key for netgear router DG834G v3 serial no 1JX169BC04A22 mac 00184D3FE256 Can you help please?

If it's not yours, you need to ask whoever it is for for the password. If the modem is for yourself, you should probably look for the manual for the wireless modem. Some of them come with a password, and the manual might tell you what it is.

As for someone else's internet, you need to ask them for the password.

WEP is an easy password, and a WAP consists of a lot more characters than a WEP

I have installed a zyxel m-102 wireless card and can see my router as available, but when I try to connect to the internet it does not work

Could be lots of things. You probably need a password for your wireless router. Also known as a WEP or WAP key.

Wireless router sends unsecured signal

It could mean that your WAP or WEP is off in your router, to turn it on you have to set a password key for the WAP/WEP. It could be set by accessing your router's configuration by typing your routers IP(usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1) in your internet browser. You will be then prompted for the username and password, for the IP, username and password refer to your routers manual or buy using the CD that comes with the router.

How to secure my wireless connection?

Open IE, go to your router using 192.168.1.1 and select Wireless security for the router you are using. Use WEP or WAP with 64 bit security. Use the same key on your desktop to connect to this secure connection.

WG511T network card problem

WEP and WAP mmmmmm.
So WEP is Wireless Encryption Protocol and WAP is Wireless Application Protocol. WAP is used in cell phones so i am presuming you actually mean WPA?
If so....
The wg511t provides the highest available level of industry standard 128-bit WEP encryption, and it’s
upgradable to Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) security.
Here are the instructions to enable WPA.
http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101675.asp
WPA is set from the router so if it is not supported on the router it is not supported on your card.
It is router dependant.
What router do you have.
Let me know if this is helpful at all.

Router intermittently drops connection to printer and or internet (wired)

Mhat type of router is this? I have had a very similar sounding problem with a few linksys routers. Or it could be somebody trying to crack your WEP key, there are programs that will push you off of your wireless connection to force you to sign back on in attempts to record your transmissions and then decipher such said recorded data to obtain your WEP/WAP pass key.
