Won't allow access to internet.

I just bought my router a couple weeks ago. It was working fine for about a week. But now it won't let me log into the internet. I have tried to unplug it then hook it back up but this only works for about an hour or so. What should I do th fix this problem?

Sounds like a defective router. I would exchange it for another one. If problem presists contact your ISP(Internet Service Provider) and have them check your signal and make sure it is up to par.

Depends on the model router you have.
Generally connect either wired or wireless. Open a internet browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. A log in for your router may appear and ask for a user name and password. The default for Linksys is user = blank (nothing) and password = admin. If the default has been changed you'll need the user name and password to access the configuration menu.
Then look for URL filter under the Advanced tab or Access Restrictions tab. Type the URL of the website you want to block in the blank. Some will allow you to edit the days of week or times it will not allow access. (ie you can block access M-F and allow on weekends.) Click on apply, submit or save and exit out of the menu.

Same situation here. Wired connection from modem works fine. I can also log in to the router via routerlogin.net. However, the router does not detect an internet connection.

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Every 6 weeks my loptop will not conect to

You need to make sure that your router has the latest firmware and v\change your wirle4ss chaneel and turn off the device for a couple of time twice or thrice a week so it won;t get over heated. also make sure that it is plug on a surge protector so if you will get a power outage it won't reset the router

Router not connecting to internet modem

This is a tuff router.  I bought it myself hoping for good things, and spent a good two days actually getting the thing to work.

I got mine to work by plugging it into the modem, the laptop I was setting it up with, etc, and then running it all. I would just suggest trying to reinstall it again with everything plugged in from the get go, and then hope for the best.... sorry I cant help more.

Log into the router and make sure that you have not limited the number of wireless connections allowed to access the internet. You also want to adjust your antivirus/firewall settings so that all devices in your house are 'trusted'.
