Refresh your USB ports:

Here is what you do:
1. Right click MY COMPUTER
2. Select PROPERTIES
3. Select HARDWARE
4. Select DEVICE MANAGER
5. Select UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS
6. Right click on each USB CONTROLLER and select Uninstall
7. Uninstall all entries
8. Reboot your computer
9. As your computer re-boots it will reinstall all USB connections it detects
THEN, when all other USB items have been configured and connected by the system, you then should try connecting your USB drive

Let me know if this fixes it or else we will try something else,
Joe

Nikon d3000 camera will not show up when attached to USB port

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

Did you take the Pictures from a Camera or from a Mobile? I hope you should have got them through one of these, camera or mobile :-). If so, please remove the memory card from the card reader and insert it into the Camera or Mobile and check whether they are still readable or not. If you find no problem, I would suspect the usb port on the computer has a faulty or I would also suspect the Card Reader. First try the memory card on the device where you took the pictures and verify that it's still working without any problem and make sure all files can be viewed.

I would also suggest you to transfer the photos from the device itself, instead of using the Card Reader (if this is possible, this is the best option).

Or you can try with the Card reader on another Computer.

Let me know.

Dont know where to plug in my mobile phone to get pictures from it

your mobile should come with wire that can be hook up in your pc. at the end of this wire/cable is a USB that you can hook up in any USB ports in your pc. also if your computer has the capability of bluetooth same as your mobile then by activating this features, you can easily access your photo from your mobile. goodluck

I have a cd with pictures that came from my camara not a digital but i want to upload and save these pictures on to mu computer and im not getting an easy way to do this please help

Place the CD in the CD drive of your computer. Go to My Computer and double click on the CD drive (it maybe the D drive or E drive it depends upon your computer setup).
You can then open the folders on the CD disk (the folders may contain the photos) or the photos maybe not be in a folder. You can then Copy and Paste the photos from the CD to a folder on the hard disk of your computer.

Cannot extract photos from Olympus M-64P D10 card.

If you cannot transfer your images from your camera to your computer using the USB cable, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader then connect the card reader into your computer's USB port. The computer will see it as an external storage device and you will be able to open the folders on the memory card and copy the images to your computer.
