If by does not copy you mean you press the copy button and nothing happens? Then the button panel must be cleaned with a non-evasive aerisol. If you press the button and a sheet comes out without ink...replace the print cartridges with a couple of new ones. If you still don't get ink to flow on the page, watch the sheet, assuming the paper is the proper type for the printer, to see if the cartridges are schimming over the page. There may be space between the page and the cartridge. If so, run the printer alignment from the touchtone pad on the printer. You will find this under "Service and Maintenance".
I hope this will help you copy all you need and thank you for letting Fixya serve you. Let us know if we may help you, additionally, with this or any other problem at home.

IR400 copier print to black copy

Not at all certain what your question refers to. The Hp Image Runner 400 is a black & white copier. What do you want to do that you are unable to do? Have you previously been able to do what you wanted with this copier, but can no longer do the same? What happens when you try to copy a document? Does the copy come out blank, or all black? Are you getting a large black area on a 8.5 x 11 inch sheet of copy paper when you attempt to copy something that is smaller in size, and therefore wasting lots of toner? Please explain your problem in detail, or no one will be able to help you. Thanks

Blank Streak down left side of copy

One way to tell is to take out the toner cart and shake it, reinstall and test run. If it comes out better you may be running out of toner in the cart and will need to replace it shortly. The drum and toner cart on this machine are in the same unit.
Hope that helps...

Does not print has blank copy

Before you added toner was it working OK, but it was asking for toner? If so the problem may be simple. The Blue lever you pushed down and to the right to release the Developing unit, was it locked in at the Nine o'clock potion? Is it now at the Nine o'clock position now or is it in a different position now. If so make sure it is at the Nine o'clock posisition now and that the front door can close correctly. Good Luck

Personal copier problem

Hi,,Could be the Transfer Corona unit that is shorting out through the end blocks.[High voltage unit] You get a fizzle sound most often when it is copying.. You can remove the unit and scrape the burnt track from the plastic end block. Dave,, Ulster,, Northern Ireland,,
