G9 Laser Mouse Scrolling Problem

I can't seem to scroll good on my mouse.
It has worked great for about a month now without problems

now when i scroll it doesn't work. it takes about 5-6 clicks to start scrolling down and i can't scroll up at all.

it only works when i tilt the scroller to the right and then scroll up and down but i can't work correctly by having to tilt it every time.

has anyone had the same problem ?

i have tried connecting it to another usb port, installing drivers, i even did a system restore to check if it was an automatic update that usually screws up something. i have no ideas left

get your facts straight before you answer ?
g9 is a wired laser mouse
and i did check the settings but there is nothing that solves it

could it be that the scroller broke ?

    clean it how ?
i thought of opening it up but i'm afraid that would void the warranty i have on it if i can't fix it

Thx for helping dude, logitechexpert my ***... now check that...i was so pissed because of such stupid advice that i hit my mouse on the corner of my desk...yep i really did.  ...and then it worked! it SCROLLS!
my theory: the logitech has a quite complicated mechanical clockwork-like gear switch for their scrollwheel. they are so proud of it, that they even have pictures of it on the box when you buy a g9. well, i guess when you make things more complicated they arent that reliable anymore...like the gear switch at your bycicle which gets messed up sometimes, because its small mechanical parts just get stucked.  so my mechanical solution: turn your g9 around hold it and knock three times(not too soft: imagine the money you paid for this mouse and release your anger) just around the area where the mechanism is located...i had exactly the same problems like you and now it works perfectly! ...i guess i dont need to buy batteries.

(Just sigh a new macro.)
Use your G-9 software, go to buttons and click on the scroll tab.
Chose Macro.
Then record what you want done in other words
open your browser and move the bar up and down with your mouse and make sure you save it.
then try it and i bet it works.
Keep your button on macro

I BELIEVE YOUR TALKING ABOUT A CORDLESS MOUSE
Regardless your mouse may just need cleaned
you also may need to change batteries if it is cordless

you can also check your mouse settings through control panel

Expert Mouse scrolling problem

I have the same problem running under win7 64 bit, I have just pulled apart my expert mouse\trackball to clean it and found that the scroll ring works by using a little infrared diode ... so no cleaning required ...

the screws for the base are located under the little rubber feet.

So I think the problem may be more related to drivers\software...
at the moment I cant find a win 64bit driver or mouse works application anywhere

Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 v2.0 Scrolling has gone awry

This may not be a solution for you but at least it may explain the cause of the problem. I recently had the same problem - the scroll wheel suddenly began to go crazy, jumping all the way to the bottom or the top of a document, or randomly skipping around. The unit was still under warranty, and Microsoft sent me a new mouse. Since they did not require me to return the old mouse, I decided to take it apart to see if I could find the problem. I found poorly soldered electrical joints to the optical sensor & LED which convert the scroll wheel movement to electrical signals. After I resoldered these connections the mouse worked fine again.
