Pictures didnt develop

Hi Steph Johnson,
Numerous things could be the issue. 1, dirty lens, clean the front and back element, 2. The camera focus is not working properly not focusing on the correct spot. So, are you manual focusing or auto focusing? If it is auto then there could be an issue with that. If your are manual focusing are you sure your diopter setting is correct for your eyes, if not then it may appear correct in the viewfinder, yet be off focus.

Do you have a way to check the lens on a DSLR? If so you can try that lens on the DSLR seeing if there is an error with the lens or if it is your film camera.

I have an internal scratch on my n90s nikon camera

I believe you mean the focusing screen. While this is an interchangeable part on higher-end Nikon cameras, it's not on the N90s. Your local authorized Nikon repair center may be able to replace it, if they can get a spare.
Before repair, bear in mind that the focusing screen will not directly affect any of your pictures. Due to the very nature of a SLR, when you take a picture the mirror flips up next to the focusing screen to let the light from the lens through to the film, bypassing the focusing screen and the rest of the optical viewfinder system. If the scratch isn't very big then while annoying it won't affect camera operation. If the scratch is very large, on the other hand, it may affect the exposure metering and, of course, your viewing.

Hi , I have a Canon AE-1 camera and I'm haviving a problem with the film advance lever . It seems to be stuck . It will not advance. Have you ever come across this problem before? Thanks ,John.

Canon AE-1 35mm SLR is a manual focus camera EOS is Canon's designation of auto focus EOS stands for Electro-Optical System. The problem you are experiencing is caused by several little things that throws the camera, wind and cocking leaver out of synchronization or simply come to the end of the roll. There is a frame counter window just to the left of the shutter release behind the shutter speed dial. Also if you have just loaded film in the camera it may not be seated correctly check by releasing the rewind button, wind the film back but not all the way and open the camera to restart the film.

How do you change the prism on a canon AE-1

The prism is a major repair. If the prism is damage the the camera is trash. If the focusing screen in fornt of the prism is scratched then you can replace it if you can find another one. Because the camera is so old you will not be able to get them from Canon. Because of the age you may be better off buying another used AE-1

25 year old Canon AE-1 Program SLR camera mirror suddenly stuck up. I can catch the edge and gently pull it away, but it returns back to the stuck up position. I have already rewound most of the film back...

I wonder about answering posts that are a year old but here goes. The Canon AE-1 Program is a solid working classic but unfortunately Canon won't repair them anymore at least not in m y country anyway. However there are many individual repair people still bringing these cameras back from retirement to full service. Check with a local camera club or cruise e-Bay I've seen auctions selling service for these cameras in the US for as little as $79.95.

My daughter is having trouble with using my old AE-1. She is trying to set the apperture manually but sees no change inside the lense. Can you tell me if there is something that she is not doing correctly...

The apeture is toward the back part of the lens. Shine a light down into the front of the lens and turn the apeture ring, you should see it change size.

Focusing screens

No, they are not the same at all. The F1 had a drop in screen in its own frame that you installed with the finder off the camera. The AE-1P used a single piece screen that installed from the front through the mirror area.

I think I scratched something inportant....PLEASE HELP ASAP!

Do not worry. The part that is scratched or has some dirt on it is called fresnel lens ( or the focusing screen ) and scratches to this part will NOT effect quality of your pictures ( i.e. you will not see any of the scratches on your results ) . True it is a hassle to have to look through a dirty viewfinder but just ignore it for now and just take pictures.
