Question about Toshiba Satellite P30 P35 Series Notebook

STARTING COMPUTER SCREEN SHOWS INVALID SYSTEM DISC

EVEN AFTER PUTTING IN THE RECOVERY DISC IT WON'T DO ANYTHING....SCREEN STILL SHOWS INVALID SYSTEM DISC.
I CAN'T GET IT TO GO ANY FURTHER NO MATTER WHAT I DO.

Can you get into the BIOS? if so, change your boot order to cd-rom first.

Once powered on it goes to black screen and says - INVALID SYSTEM DISC,replace the disc, and then press any key.


Are you sure the BIOS is set to boot from hard disk?
It looks like it is trying to boot from network (PXE) and then from floppy disk.

My gateway laptop won't reboot after system recovery


I would put in a Windows disc and see if that prompts windows to start and/or reinstall. Actually, can you send me the recovery disc via download? I am trying to fix my old laptop and cannot find the discs. lilly.murphy@yahoo.com Thanks much!

My Studio 1535 has crashed. It will not reboot Vista. When I turn it on it will show the Dell Splash Screen and then go to the "Windows Error Recovery" screen which shows these options:...


To start the systemrecovery:
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Computer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
  4. After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available orfails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. Ifyou do not have a set of Recovery Media, you may purchase the set onlinefrom the manufacturer. Note: If your computer does not havean internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be requiredin order to recover the Operating System using Recovery Media.
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the computer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
  3. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.

How to reinstall the Operating system on your computer

Select models, with Microsoft Windows, have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden partition built into the computer.
Note: During the process, all data stored on your computer will be overwritten. This means all your files, such as email and photos, will be erased. Therefore, we recommend making a backup of all personal data before starting the recovery process.
To start the system recovery:
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
3.If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
4.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.

When i am start my hp pavilion this shows Bootmgr is missing alt+cntr+del to restart again it same cycle

The following error opens when attempting to start the PC:


??¢ If you recently installed an additional hard drive, turn off the computer and remove the drive before using the following steps:

??¢ Open HP System Recovery:

??¢ CAUTION: Do not perform a system recovery! Stop at the first recovery screen.

- Press the F11 key repeatedly while the computer is starting.

- If you have a recovery disc, turn on the PC and insert the first recovery disc into the drive. Use the disc to enter the system recovery.

??¢ Select Microsoft Startup Repair tool and wait for repair to find and fix errors. When finished, restart the computer; even if the startup repair tool finds errors but cannot fix them.

??¢ If the error message persists, open the recovery manager screen as was done in step 1.

??¢ At the recovery manager screen, press ALT + D.

??¢ Enter the following text at the command prompt: bootrec /rebuildbcd

??¢ If bootrec displays "Add installation to boot list?", press y .

??¢ After bootrec completes successfully, the computer displays "The operation completed successfully".

??¢ To close the command prompt, enter the following text: exit

??¢ At the Recovery Manager screen, select Microsoft Startup Repair tool (again) and wait for startup repair to find and fix errors. When finished, restart the computer.

??¢ The error should no longer open. If it does, perform a system recovery, making sure to backup important files.

??¢ If you removed a hard drive before using these steps, replace the drive. If the error occurs again, make sure the additional hard drive is not set as an active drive. Only the main bootable drive should be set as active.

My pc is lock .my dauther try to many password


Some times the CAPS Lock key may be on, so please make sure that the CAPS Lock key is off.

If the issue still exists, I request you to perform the full system recovery using the recovery disks. To perform this full system recovery, you can use the recovery disks that you have created using the recovery partition.
Use the recovery discs to restore the PC by following the steps below:
1. Insert the recovery disc in the optical disc drive and start the computer.
If the computer is running, insert the recovery disc and immediately click Start and select Restart to force the computer to start from the recovery disc.
2. When prompted, Press any key to boot from CD or DVD, press any key on the keyboard.
3. Allow the recovery disc to start and load the required files while the Microsoft loading screen is displayed. It may take several minutes to load the required files.
4. When the HP Recovery Manager window displays, click Advanced options , System recovery , and then click Next to open the Recovery Manager.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions and perform the required actions.
NOTE: Do not interrupt the recovery process even though the computer may restart and the Windows desktop may display at various times.
· When prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to Backup the user files.
After performing the backup, when prompted, re-insert the recovery disc, and then click Next to continue the recovery process.
· A status box is displayed to indicate the status of the recovery and the estimated time remaining.
· If you used multiple discs when you created the personalized recovery discs, follow the prompts to remove the first disc and insert any requested discs.
6. When prompted to Insert the Supplemental driver disc , take one of the following actions:
· If you purchased a replacement recovery disc from HP, and it included a Supplemental driver disc, insert the disc and click OK or Next . The recovery program checks the supplemental disc and installs the specific needed files.
After the Supplemental files are installed, a prompt is displayed to remove the Supplemental disc and insert the original recovery disc.
· If you purchased a replacement recovery disc from HP, and it did not include a Supplemental driver disc, click Skip or Cancel . The recovery program will ignore the request and install the next file on the recovery disc.
· If you created a personal recovery disc, press Next to continue.
7. Continue following the on-screen instructions to complete the recovery process.
NOTE: If you have not created a personal recovery disc, or the recovery disc fails or become corrupted, see HP Notebook PCs - Order Recovery Discs for Vista as your notebook is preinstalled with Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1.

Acer aspire 5050 keeps looping the acer screen and shuts down


If the hard drive tested out ok (?) then I would burn a copy of memtest (free just google it) boot from it and test the memory. I would suggest though that the issue is the hard drive or possibly motherboard

I presume that recovery disc is for that computer... in that case check that the disc is spotlessly clean and also if i remember right that is a two disc set so make sure you are putting disc one in first

Is you new hard drive lager than you old on and was the disk drive a factory replacement cause with those disks if you even change just that they will not work
