Maytag Gemini Double Oven-bottom temp problem

Top oven works fine--when setting bottom oven to auto temp of 350 the temp doesn't go pass 150--went to 225 once, but now only goes to 150--replaced heating element last year, it wouldn't have gone out already?

I have the same oven. The oven is only 14 months old. From other web sites it sounds like a control board. WTF. I spent alot of money for this and now it's no good. It would'nt feel so bad if it was 10 years old. Not willing to spend $450 on a new stove. Will not buy another maytag item in this house.

This Maytag Gemini model # MER6872BAW top oven works fine but the bottom oven won't heat up past 150 degrees. I don't know if it is a bad element in the lower oven or if there is a bad sencor. Is there a way to check the element to see if it is bad

The top oven only heats up to like 150. Is it the heating element for the top oven? If so is it hard to exchange?

Hi

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

I have a Maytag Gemini range and the bottom oven is off by 25 degrees. When I set it for 350 it only gets up to 325 actual temp even though the digital display says 350. Is there an adjustment or do I have...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

OVEN TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
If you think the oven is operating too cold or hot, you can adjust it. Bake several test items and then adjust the temperature set- ting not more than 10° F at a time.
To Adjust: 1. PresstheBAKEpad(upperorlower
oven) and enter 550° F.
2. PressandholdtheBAKEpad(upperor lower oven) for several seconds until TEMP ADJ is displayed.
3. PresstheAUTOSETpad-eachpress changesthetemperatureby5°F. The control will accept changes from -35° to +35° F.
4. Iftheovenwaspreviouslyadjusted, the change will be displayed. For example, if the oven temperature was reduced by 15° F, the display will show -15° F.
5. When you have made the adjustment, press the CANCEL pad and the time of day will reappear in the display. The oven will now bake at the adjusted temperature.

MAYTAG GEMINI model MER6770AAW Fault code F1-L -same code for upper and lower. After reading other comments, it appears that the temp sensor(s) are bad. I need to find part #'s and cost. Thank you Pete

Here's a late response, hopefully helpful to someone... I had the same issue with same model Maytag range. I pressed the CLEAN option on the touchpad (bottom oven) and that option seemed to work. I pressed Auto Set and I let it go through "remove oven racks" until the display panel read 100 degrees and then pressed CANCEL. About 30 seconds later, when the oven was out of "clean mode," I pressed BAKE, then Auto Set, and it's been working fine ever since...

I'm sure the sensor needs replaced and will go permanently sooner or later, but if anyone out there gets the F1-L code but hopes to at least temporarily revive your oven maybe this will do the trick.
