My in dash dvd player says i can't play movies while driving. anybody know how to bypass that? i know some systems have codes but i can't find any for the VR3 4inch in dash dvd navigation system that i got at wal mart. if anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...
Hi, I had the same prob with mine. Pretty easy fixed. There is an earth wire connected to the park brake switch, you have to disconnect it. If you are not savvy with car stereo installation, I would advise you take it to strathfield or another car stereo installer - it is a quick and easy job and they shouldnt charge you more than 20 bucks for it.... if that. Beware though, playing movies in your field of view is VERY distracting and dangerous..... and illegal.

On bypasses you can either hook the parking brake wire straight to ground, if that does not work you can install a toggle switch between the parking brake wire and ground so you can mimic the parking brake on off.
Yes, there is a way to watch a movie without the parking brake engaged. The parking brake safety mechanism is there for a reason, and I do not suggest that you disable this sytem so that you can watch movies while driving. With that said, the simplest way to bypass the parking brake system is to take the parking brake wire from the head unit, run a wire to a chassis ground point, and then put a toggle switch inline so that you can flip it on and off. This will simulate the engaging/disengaging of a parking brake.
Again, I do not condone or recommend watching movies while driving. There are enough distracted people driving on the roads.
It's not that difficult. Get a two position toggle switch and run the wire that normally goes to the brake, into one end of the toggle. Then run a wire from the other end of the toggle to a ground. Whenever the message comes up on the screen about viewing while driving, flip the toggle switch on then off and it will bypass the safety feature. That's how I did mine and two other buddies of mine.
You have to hardwire it to bypass
the e-brake. Take the peach-colored wire and ground it to metal inside
the dash. Put a toggle switch inline on the wire and mount it somewhere
you can reach it. When you get the blue screen when starting a movie,
open the switch for 3-5 seconds, then close it again to reapply the
ground. Your movie will start up, and you can then drive away with it
turn on the player, start the radio option, go into the setup menu, tap the language tab, ON THE REMOTE press "stop, stop, 5,4,3,2,1" This will bring up the secret menu, you do not need to connect the pink wire
