Question about Macally IceCam Personal Web Camera

1 Answer

After only 2 uses, my macally ice cam 2 has stopped working

I plug in the USB cord that came with it...the green light comes on, but nothing shows up on the screen and within a few seconds, the green light goes off. I'm so disappointed! Those first two uses were great.

When you plug the cam in do you have it turned on
i'm sure your program is stiil there
go to c\ program files see if your program is there
make sure your batteries in the cam are working
if all that is fine something in your setup has changed
therefore i would reinstall the software that came with your program
let me know if i've helped

I plugged it in and nothing is working . I have an hp laptop running vista. I have to use this camera for a class at CTUOnline due tomorrow. Help! Rhonda

When you plug in the camera does vista show that new hardware is found and if any lights are on the device do they come on?. Can you see any image of a PC card on the status bar near the time , if you do then double click it and it will open the hardware wizard that is looking for the drivers and if you have internet connected to then it should find the drivers automatically. Were you using this cam with Vista before or Windows XP ? Try installing the driver that is on the CD that came with the camera or download from his location

http://www.macally.com/techsupport/drivers/IceCam_setup.exe

The cam should work without the driver on windows but sometimes it might not find the right one.

When plugged into the USB, SimpleTech Mini 250 will not come on

Did the light ever come on, or is this a new drive?
How old is the system? (It appears to require a power cord for USB 1.1, but not 2.0.)
If it worked in the past, as long as you have the same type of connectors (A, B, mini) on the cord ends, any USB cord should work. Just swap it out.

Icecam serial number rubbed off and i need software!

  1. Normal 0 Be sure the camera is plugged into the USB port before running the program.
As you run the program, write down the info about the camera so you will know what you have .
Double click on this site and download the Camera Diagnostic Tool and run it to check out your camera and/or problem.
    http://www.download32.com/webcam-diagnostics-d35065.html

I ran the diagnostic on my camera to give you an idea how well it works.
    Give it a try.
    Hope this helps. Bud

Macally Ice Cam

Normal 0 There are a number of things that can cause the camera to freeze up the computer.
First I’d check to see how much memory is installed in the computer. It takes additional memory to operate the camera.
Hope this helps. Bud

Green light is on mine, but USB port shows no device. When I plug it in, I get "found new device" message, but no icon on my desktop. None of my messengers recognize it either. It does show up in cameras and scanners though...I'm so confused.
