Hello,

I am afraid I have some bad news, the code H98 on the Display a problem with the microwave
generation system. This is the part of the microwave that creates the energy that cooks the food. According to the manual, the microwave needs to be serviced. I hope that it is still under warranty. Sorry that I don't have better news for you.

Also, you can Download the Manual here This is also a link to the Support page where you can enter your zip code and find a place nearby that can service it for you. Might be worth getting an estimate, but I am guessing your money will be better spent towards a new Microwave.

Where is fuse located

Leonard, first, unplug the microwave and then turn it around so that you are looking at the back of the unit. Take the screws out that hold the cover onto the unit, most will be accessible from the back, but some may be on the side as well. Once you have all of the screws out you can remove the cover and set it aside. Find where the power cord goes into the back of the unit and follow the black wire from the cord to where it stops. Usually it will go either to a circuit board where your fuse will be located or it will go directly to the fuse holder. The holder could be a block mounted to the unit or it occasionally goes to an in-line fuse holder. The fuse will be stamped with the amperage rating on one end of the fuse on the metal collar. You need to make sure that you replace it with the same amperage fuse. Hope this helps!

H97, H98 or H99 mean that there's a problem with your inverter, magnetron, or digital programming circuit.

Panasonic genious sensor inverter 1300w nn-t664sfx displays code "h98" & will not run - what's the problem?

Mine did this once and it was the magnetron. Once replaced, it worked fine. Repair is an option if it is still under warranty or someone will do it on the cheap. Otherwise, just get a new microwave, since this is the main part.

HI, this will require the skilled hands of a qualified Panasonic tech. The damaged part here is the Magnetron assembly. this is a very sensitive part that creates radiation and the heating process as well. you will need to replace this device asap if possible...

What cause the wattage difference?

Wattage is based upon voltage & current. I would think that on the 1300W unit, either the voltage or the current is higher than that which is used on the 1200W unit.

Perhaps the magnetron in the 1300W unit is being driven harder. Are the fans the same size?, The magnetron in the 1300W could be running harder and they have a larger fan in it.

In any event, if the part numbers are the same, you should have no trouble using one units parts to fix the other.

Good luck!
