Would first remove fuel from tank by pouring it through a paper towel into a container. If it has water in it (which will be caught in the towel) You will need to clean tank completely and remove and clean carb.

Hi

First check compression.Priming the engine for few times.Check the air and fuel filters.Check the flyweel keey not to be shatered off(timing).Start the engine. If the engine only runs the gas from the cilinder you puted inside you have a fuel delivery problem to find and fix.The spark at the plug has to be blue!

Why does a pressure washer suddenly stop working?

Wide range of causes, Gerry. Empty fuel tank, old/bad fuel, or water in fuel. Dirty carburetor. Fuel shutoff valve. Sticking carburetor float valve. Fouled spark plug. Points. Magneto. Shutoff switch. Compression. Sticky valve. Water in intake. Dirty air filter.

Check for fuel at the carburetor, check for spark at the spark plug.

Might be simple - you might simply have flooded it. Let it sit for several hours, then try to start it again... with NO choke at first.

I put 2 cycle gas in my 4 cycle Honda gcv190 pressure washer

did you pull the spark plug out and clean it ? if you did , did you also put the starter cord and turn the motor over without the plug installed to get rid of the 2-cycle oil out of the cylinder ? if not do so.

Crank pull cord doesn't pull out on honda pressure washer.. The machine is only 3 months old

if the fuel tap has been left on it may have fuel on top of the cylinder and would not able to pull cord.
if so take the spark plug out and turn over, fuel may come out of hole.replace spark plug and try to start. if it still won't turn over, you will need to take the face plate off the motor. remove and inspect if there is any foreign objects. try to turn motor over by hand., grab on to fly wheel & turn. if it moves freely it may be the pull start it-self. try pulling the cord out. if no problem assemble and try to start.

Was running fine till ran out of gas ........fill tank up ...try to restart it .......wont start replaced plug ........still no go .

Recurring issues with honda engine no start. Engine was thought to be out of gas however engine was actually shut down by oil alert. Check/change oil to reset, or unplug wire from oil alert and check engine. Vacuum in fuel system due to faulty fuel cap. Loosen cap to allow air in tank. Water in fuel. Water will condense out of the fuel in fuel container and will be introduced into tank. Water is heavier than fuel and will enter carb bowl. Check engine fuel tank with flashlight for signs of water, remove fuel bowl (shut off fuel) and clean. Spark plug is rarely issue, however could be wet from too much choke. Good luck

I can not pull the string to start the engine of power washer

Try removing the spark plug then pulling the cord! If the cord pulls then you cycle the engine a couple of time to see if fuel is coming out of the spark plug hole! If no fuel present replace spark plug and try starting the engine. always have water running through your washer before you attemp to start!

Stored for a year. i changed the spark plug and the fuel. i also cleaned the carb. water runs through the pump. but it wont stay running. it wants to start but only runs for a few seconds. i think it...

Sounds like the float my be partially stuck closed. It allows enough fuel to run a few seconds then the engine uses it faster than the float lets the fuel back in. I would remove the float bowl and flip the float up and down a few times to make sure it is free and try it again.

My almost new Honda GCV 160 engine will not start.

Hi , I think you need someone to remind you these engins are not made by god and they work by obeying three simple rules ,
1.Spark , Can you see a very good blue spark
2.compression,,can you feel strong compression ,
3.fuel , is the right amount of fuel getting in , is the air mixture good ,

Now try these things

Find the manual and PROPPER set the gap in the spark plug ,
clean and check the air filter ,
remove all fuel and replace with brand new,
check the fuel filter, even in the tank tap?
undo the screw at the carb bowl , can you see petrol leaking ,

If everything checks out then try this to get it started,,

spray "easystart" in the carb , bypassing the air filter ,
if it wants to start but cant for long then its a carb problem
check float hight , float needle, jets and pins ,too much air getting in

find someone thats good on motorbikes , They like me know all the tricks to get things to start ,

Won't start, small engine guy said carburator needed to be flushe

Hi lackeyapda:
Fire Air Fuel

Remove the spark plug, plug it back into its wire. Hold it close to the metal frame WITH INSULATED PLIERS. Pull the cord and see if you get a spark. If no it is the coil, plug wire or a safety switch. If yes
put it back together. Take the air filter off. Spray some "easy start" or "carb cleaner " into the carburetor. Try starting. If it starts for a moment then dies, you do need to clean your carb.

tip a cap full of fuel in top of the carb to start intitially, check for spark as common fault is on/off switch, If no spark, link the 2 wires on on/off switch together.
