Help! My Kenmore washing machine goes through all of the cycles until it comes to draining. I can hear it humming like it is trying to drain but nothing happens. It is an older top loading model.

Well if you have a belt drive model then your wigwag solenoid is probably bad. This shifts the tranny into the spin and open the drain flap on the pump. If you have a newer beltless model then i would say your drive coupling is probably shot. Post the model number in the comment box for a more precise answer mon ami.

My GE washer model- WJRE5550K2WW won't drain . it fills up and goes through wash cycle then when it suppose to drain you just hear a humming but it does nothing until it finally shuts its self off

It could be pump (if that humming comes from the machine, I assume pump works). So I would say it's clogged. You need to flip machine over and open it from the bottom (if you can), then there is hose that comes from the drum, take it apart and see that it's clean, if there is white ball in it, take it out, that ball is causing more trouble than it fixes. Clean the hose where it comes together with the drum and put everything back together.

I have a kenmore oasis # 110.27087603 the machine stopped working. i emptied the water and it begun working until it stopped at 21mins into the wash cycle. i emptied the machine and it did the same thing....

most likely a drain pump issue or the main board is not telling the pump to run. board is pricey for a test but the pump could be stopped. if you do not hear the drain pump running, try replacing it, if the pump hums but no water moves, you need to check intake . pump is underneath washer on the right. the left is a recirc pump and is not interchangable.

Kenmore washer model 12502100 goes into rinse cycle fills with water turns then stops. won't drain just stops hear humming or buzzing noise.

Try to put it on rinse on another cycle, like normal, heavy duty or delicate. If it works, then your timer is probably bad. If it doesn't work then maybe the pump. Best of luck

I have a kenmore heavy duty, series 70,# 82872120.. It makes a humming noise and will not complete the rinse cycle or the spin cycle.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getModel!retrieve.pd?modelNumber=110.82872120

If it goes through the agitate cycle, the motor and transmission are probably OK.

If it goes through the initial drain / spin cycles after the first agitate cycle, the Lid Switch is also OK.

The humming could likely be the timer motor. Try to manually move the timer to the rinse cycle. If the washer responds, the problem points to the timer itself.

See the sub component section on the Sears site for the Console.

The "Alt" part numbers are Whirlpool parts that can likely be purchased from a variety of on line or local parts stores.

Wash will not drain

Hi, When the cycle goes into drain, do you hear the motor humming at all? If the motor does not hum, check the lid switch.
If the washer agitates, there must be a problem with lid switch ot timer. The lid switch is most common.
Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Kenmore 70 series top loader - wouldn't drain & spin

The lid switch is the only thing affecting this part of the cycle. The new switch comes with the new plug (under console ) and the harness that goes to the switch. The console will flip up and the cabinet will pull forward after removing 2 brass looking clips. After that it's right there under the right side of the upper cabinet.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!
