Hi!
Most common cause for this problem is defective electrolytic capacitors(Cylindrical shaped usually blue or red in color) on the mechanical interface board. a good electronic tech should be able to replace them.

Check out for any burnt connections or any cold solder joints of capacitors

    Error E-11 in general terms mean no input signal. So, check out for any burnt capacitors near the input circuit board. Also see the link for your Panasonic player manual---

    And also check out for the wiring between the camera and your panasonic. Bcause this error is also caused when no input is fed to your panasonic.

E-11 error shows problem in loading mechanism and seems loading mechanism stuck some where in loading / unloading mode.

Loading motor and slider are suspected. Loading motor needs to be checked getting power from loading circuit and loading slider groove can be broken and causing mechanism stuck.

VHS mechanism will be apart to test and check, if you are familiar with VHS repair then go ahead.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand, there is nothing wrong with the Panasonic AG-TL950. The error message E-11 is indicative that there is no input video signal. This only confirms that the Panasonic could not detect any signal from any of the cameras. Pls post back the brand and model number of your camera and if you are using a mixer/interface box or direct to the Panasonic.

Check and perform preliminary visual or necessary inspection. Pls post back result(s). Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

    Appreciate the postback. Ideas you can consider:

    • check the mixer/interface box (sequential switcher). This devices accepts the inputs of the 3 are WVBP110 and 1 is WVBP124 and manipulates them. The output is then fed to the Panasonic AG-TL950;

    • to confirm if it is a switcher's issue or a camera problem, connect each and every camera direct to the rear BNC Video INPUT of the Panasonic AG-TL950;

    • check if the cameras has an extra wire other then the video cable, for its power supply;

    • in some designs, the DC power to the camera is fed along the video cable;

    • additionally, another video source such as a DVD player could be attached to the Panasonic AG-TL950's Video INPUT to determine if the Panasonic is working and that the problem is either with the camera or the sequencer.
    Cheers.

    There are 4 cameras, the Panasonic AG-TL950 has only 1 Video IN, there is an interface box, a sequencer/switcher where the 4 cameras initially connects to. The output of that interface box/sequencer/switcher then goes to the Video Input of the Panasonic.

When you say AVI, I'm assuming you mean the standard audio/video.

Unfortunately these decks are prone to eat their firewire chip. There aren't many options besides send it back to Sony and pay $500.
