The timer is faulty near compressor and due to these defrost cycle is taking place early or the defrost is not working at all.

remove the floor grille and check drip pan if full carefully remove and drain water if pan is dry [pan is drip tray from auto defrost water goes to pan than usually dissipates ] if dry look to back at water line for damaged or leaking line or valve

There is usually a condensation pan at the bottom of a fridge. This can fill with water and over flow, causing what is happening. Also, the ice maker could be causing the problem because the water connections can leak at the back where they connect to the house water system.

if it's just water, check the door gaskets. if it's coolant, you'll most likely need a heater core. past that, have someone spray water on the car while you look for where the water is getting in. you may need to pull the carpet back some to see.

Usually a sign of a plugged drain tube.
The HVAC box has a tube that drains the water onto the ground.
The tube should be at the bottom of the firewall near the passenger floor.
