one day I just noticed a lower overall volume of the speker and I found out that the left speker was not working. The audio card works with external speakers or a headphone, but the speaker just doesnt work. Can this problem has something to do with the high temperature that the vaio gets to when its working?

Headphone socket is possibly faulty or you are plugged into the mic socket or there is a separate volume control to drive the speakers or the driver is not installed correctly.

The volume is very weak

Hi, if the sound in the headphones is as low then we know it is not your laptop speakers, you should try headphones first just to be sure... next try to find the laptop master volume which can be controled by an either designated buttons or other keys on your keyboard, look for keys showing a picture of speakers on them, they either work directly by clicking them or you need to press the F or Fn key while you click them, either way try playing with these by clicking them with or without the Fn key and see if anything happen... Best of Luck

Voice in both headphone and laptop speaker so its worthless to us

hi!
You need to adjust a little bit lower in your master volume settings for the microphone. including the master volume.
You can find it at the buttom navigation bar If your're using windows XP. Try to adjust the settings. Your headphone had a mic therefore u need to test it until such time ur speakers will not echo.....

Please reply so that we can diagnose a better option.

When you insert the headphone jack into the green socket it separates a silver tab and cuts power to the speakers. These things never break. The only other options to why headphones have no single is they are either muted, or the sound is pegged down.

To check the sound levels on any computer, click or double click the speaker icon in your system tray near the digital clock display. If you don't have one, let me know. This action brings up the sound levels for all sound enabled devices on your system.

First, check that Master is not muted by a check box selected or the volume slider all the way down. Next look at the Wave slider for the same thing. If you are playing back a CD, look at the CD slider and then the volume control in your CD App for a mute box check or volume slider there pegged down. That should cover the sliders. For the mic you will notice a slider for it and that its muted by default, there's a reason but its related to feedback loops in sound, that's all.

Next, open Control Panel, click or double click on Sound and this opens several property sheets, the first one shows the built in devices for your laptop, each of the three should be filled. There at times a page for setting mic response to your voice. If you see a setup for your mic recording go ahead and run through that just to set the microphone sensitivity.

If it still does not work for you, I'm not sure what to say. I'll give it some thought so don't rate this until you hear from me again.

Microphone and headphone problem

Hello,

Usually when you double click the speaker icon in the system tray you'll see the volume settings for all your devices. On microphone there is usually an check box for mic boost. Set those to mic boost. Then check that all the sliders in the volumes are one increment below the top but maximum for Wave. Then set the master volume to a comfortable loudness This you can access by a single click to the speaker icon.

Next, you can go to Control Box, click on Sounds and check the settings for speakers/headphone and also for recording where there is usually a routine for checking the recording settings via your microphone made available to you.

Please do not hesitate to ask me for more information and kindly be specific if you can. I'm here to help and will get back to you in a reasonable period of time.

Hope this fixed your problem and thanks for using Fixya.

Regards,
Worldvet

Sound problem with Aspire 5570

I had the same problem with my Acer 5570 and I just fixed it. What I did is to go to Control Panel > Sounds And Audio Devices >Hardware >On Devices click on Reatek High Definition Audio >Click Properties > On Devise Usage choose the option Do not use this devise (disable) > click OK >then plug in your headphones, click on Realtek High Definition Audio properties again and click on Enable Devise **with the headphones plugged in**. It worked for me.
