Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
Notebooks are notorious for problems with internal wifi. When I first encountered this problem years ago, I spent over 30 hours researching and testing various solutions.
Here are some work arounds which I have used in the past successfully.
1. If there is still a warranty coverage and you can go without this computer for some time, send it to the manufacturer. They may replace the board and restore you to what you to a place of comfort.
2. Purchase a new or refurbished USB wifi. I have acquired online or at stores such as TigerDirect.com refurbished USB wifi for as little as $10.
If you purchase a USB wifi you will still be able to use your internal wifi. However, when it fails, you will have the option of inserting the USB wifi. I suggest that when you insert the USB that you shut down your internal wifi. If both are operating there is a tendency for the system to slow transmissions somewhat.
If you decide to troubleshoot your problem to come to your own resolution you are likely to end at a point of frustration. You will find a workaround a better approach.
