When the timer, clock etc didn't light up my oven stopped working. Replaced the clock display unit and all is now fine. A simple switch over just remove one wire at a time and place it on the new unit, the only difficult part was gaining access to remove the display unit itself.
Sometimes the timer display fades but still working in background, if all dead now then probably means you need new timer as ovens shouldn't work if clocks not set to manual mode.
Try turning oven on then messing with buttons, usually the 2 left buttons and one far right should do trick.. push 2 left first, keeping them pressed push far right!
can you hear audible tones form the machine when trying to set?? and just hte display has dimmed( amore normal complaint). all functions are working just the clock/display has dimmed to non readable state. if thats the issue youll need to replace the display part number 71003424 retails for about $165
It appears that the timer has gone faulty, possibly because of a short in the bulb holder, which probably explains why there is no display and the main oven not working. the top will still work as it is not controlled by the timer.
the solution hear would to be fit a new timer.
the digital display on my jenn-air oven, model jjw9527c...has gone completely out. i am very efficient in wiring and electronics and would have no problem fixing it myself, just not sure which parts i need to order. Please return this with a solution, holiday season is very close.....thank u
