Nikon Coolpix L11 digital camera won't turn on

My digital camera won't turn on. It doesn't have any flashing lights and shutter is closed. I've used several new batteries, and no change.

My camera (which is almost brand new, rarely used) will not turn on - and it's not the batteries.

Camera will not retain user settings when changing main camera battery.

I had a problem with this as well, it would start to power on, then just shut right back down... Used some new batteries from a discount store and SURE ENOUGH, this little camera will not tolerate cheap batteries! I switched in some Duracell Copper Tops, like the above suggested, and it works just fine again...

My Nikon Coolpix s230 flash won't work. It just blinks red in the lower right hand corner. I've tried all the settings and they all won't flash.

If there is a problem with the flash itself or the mainboard connection to the flash it will not charge. If the flash won't charge then it won't go off when you take a picture. The only way to fix the problem is to replace the flash with a good used one and see if that fixes it. If not, then you need to replace the mainboard. Good used parts can usually be found online for cheap; that auction website doesn't pay me to type their name, so I don't, sorry. Hope this helps!

There is a red flashing light on my camera

Your camera's clock is not set. Go into the setup menu and set the date and time.

Unfocused Pics

If you use the "macro" setting (the flower symbol on the command dial), and are holding the camera steady, it should work. Try to ensure sufficient light by shooting near a window. You should also disable the flash by using the arrow on the dial to go to the "no flash" setting. The main problem is most likely that you are shooting close to the images, so the macro setting is a must. Good luck.

Wont turn on but light is blinking

Are there any error messages on the LCD display?

Will the camera lens stay out when the camera is turned on?

Can you still take a photo/flash/sound without seeing the photo?

If the camera will not turn on even with a fresh set of batteries it could have a system or lens error in the camera.

a possible lens jamb when closed and the green led on top comes on then shuts off after the lens attemps to extend but cant.

Help flash Nixon coolpix L11

hello,

make sure when you press the round selection button on the back of the camera flash option, you press the ok in the center of the button on the back.

it will show brief yellow AUTO in the LCD screen upper right corner for a sec.

when you are going to take a picture holding the shutter button half way down, you should see up at the right corner outside of the LCD screen a red led flashing to indicate flash is ready.

one thing to try if this is not working, find the camera reset option in the menu. after doing this you may have to reset the date & time. it will bring the camera back to default settings

on the bad side if these dont work, possible flash circuit may have failed inside the camera.

good luck!
