Question about Sanyo DS31520 31" TV

1 Answer

PSCAN Message Displayed

When I go to video mode on my Sanyo DS31520 31" TV I get a split vertical screen and the message PSCAN right in the center of the TV screen. This only occurs in Video mode. The DVD play works fine, but displays on the two screens.

How do I fix this problem.

Thanks

Whenever I try to watch a DVD the screen splits and a message reads "PSCAN"

You need to do one of two things:
1) Look at the back of the DVD player for a switch that is labeled with " PROGRESSIVE SCAN', you need to set it to OFF (since you are using Composite Video jack (Yellow RCA jack) output of the DVD to feed your TV, but the DVD player is set to PROGRESSIVE scan mode, taht is why you are seeing "PSCAN).

2) Use the component video input/output instead by using 5-wire cable set (Red, Blue, Green for video, and White and RED for audio).

When i load a DVD, I get a split screen and a large PSCAN!

Probably fix it with the remote. Look up progressive scan in your manual, and turn it off.

Split Screen

Go into SETUP
GENERAL SETUP PAGE
Go to VIDEO OUTPUT (can't see through error message, but it is the second one down - If you are on the right one, you will see S-Video, YUV Interlace and YUV Progress. as choices)
Change setting from YUV Progress to YUV Interlace

Mine was set on YUV Progress. and when I changed it, the problem disappeared.
