I have a Technika TDX6 just out of warranty. When I programme to wash dishes all relevant lights come on. I can hear a humming sound from machine but machine wont start. It appears that the water is not pumping into the machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The small black relay on the main circuit board was overheated and the contacts were burnt.
If you held the start button in it would sometimes start.
Expensive fix is change the complete circuit board or find someone with electronics experience to change the relay which is a common 12V 10A type i.e. NEC MR301-12HS.
It appears the problem was some sort of electrical fault. I changed the setting on the wash cycle from setting 5 to setting 1, pressed start and the dishwasher commenced its cycle. I then changed the setting back to five and the dishwasher continued to work. I can only suggest that there was possibly some connection problem in the setting knob. Thanks anyway for the assistance.

Start the wash programme
1. Check that when the dishes and cutlery are loaded in the dishwasher
the spray arms are free to rotate.
2. Open the water tap fully.
3. Shut the door.
4. Press the ON/OFF button. ON/OFF button indicator comes on. 5. Press the button for the programme required (see "Programme Table"). The programme indicator lights up. One or two lights will flash in the multi-display. During this time it is possible to reselect the programme. The selected washing programme begins after approx. 6 seconds. The current wash programme stage will always be shown in the multi-display.
3 If the top light and/or the middle light in the multi-display flash after
the programme has started please read the section "What to do, if...".
I imagine you've already checked that you're using the correct amount
of detergent for the wash programme, and that you're washing the
correct quantity of dishes for the wash programme, though if not, try that first!
Is the dishwasher heating the water to the correct temperature? If it's not rinsing at a hot enough temperature, the detergent may leave a residue. In that case, your dishes would probably also be less than entirely clean; they could be slightly greasy when removed from the machine.
Another possibility is that insufficient water is supplied to the dishwasher, so it might be worth checking the tap that lets water through the hose and into the machine. Does the tap turn on fully? Does it turn off properly?
The other thing that might be worth trying is an empty wash: put the machine through a wash programme WITH detergent but WITHOUT dishes, at the programme with the highest temperature. Is all the soap scum washed away? Or is there still a residue inside the machine? If the empty wash works, you probably need to give your machine a maintenance wash once a month or so. This is often the case if you usually wash your dishes a few at a time on a short programme.
Try running the hottest, longest programme WITH detergent but WITHOUT dishes. If you usually wash just a few dishes on a short programme, you might find that the machine never gets hot enough to wash away all the detergent residue.
There is a possibility that the water pump is bad or is clogged. How old is your unit? If it is still under warranty, see about getting a service person over to look at it. If it isn't under warranty consult your user's manual about getting to the waterpump to see if it is clogged or even working.
