Question about Palm Tungsten E Handheld

1 Answer

The screen is frozen

I just picked up my Tungsten E after leaving it alone for about 2 years. I am thinking the battery needs replacing. This is what happened. I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. I used the usb to hook it to the laptop, and it started charging. I thought that was the end of it. I left it to charge (this time on the AC outlet) overnight. It is now totally frozen. I can't turn it off. None of the icons work when I tap on them. What can I do? If it is the battery, can I do the replacing of it by myself? Or is this something better left to the professionals. I am pretty savvy with things like this. I just never worked on a PDA . Anything you can tell me would be most appreciated. Thanks Mary

Have you tried a reset? Use a paper clip to push the reset button in the back.
There is also a Hard reset that will wipe out the memory on your Palm. Just hold down the power button while pushing the reset button. Hold the power button until the Palm logo appears on the screen.

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Lg rumor screen frozen

screen froze? remove the battery, leave it out for 2 mins. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you need a new phone. If its less than 30 days old take it back to where you got it. If its in the first year you can call tech support for an advanced exchange or you call LG for a replacement. Either way should be free.

1. Go into the menu and find "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. 2. Remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

If you cannot get to "reset" in the camera menu, then here is how to do a manual reset...remove the card and battery...press all the buttons...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on.

T5 is frozen on the "Palm Powered" screen

Remove the battery and let the palm sit for a day, reconnect the battery and do a hard reset. To remove the battery, you need a Torx T5 screwdriver. Carefully remove the cover making a note of the location of all the buttons in the case. The battery is connected by a mini 2 pin connector, just disconnect the battery by gently wiggling the connector and pulling.

My e2 frozen on the palm powered logo

Okay here it goes, your going to want to leave it on for however many hours it takes to completely drain the battery then you're going to want to recharge it back to normal charge, and try restarting it again. This will delete completely anything that is keeping it from restarting properly. If you did open up the machine without following "antistatic procedure" you may have fried a component on the board and then your in trouble
you'll need to salvage a board from another tungsten and put it back in your PDA and hope you put it back together right

Tungsten E2 PDA battery

E2 has a great battery might not be it. Its not easyly replaceable like in some other models.

the battery can be replaced by a professional or by yourself.

The pda should work on charger? does it work while pluged in?
If it doesnt work while its pluged in theres something more seriour wrong with it.

You can try soft and hard reseting.

Instructions can be found in this pdf file http://www.palm.com/us/support/handbooks/tungstene2/en/maintain.pdf

If you cant open pdf files you need to find yourself pdf reader, google pdf reader and get one.

If soft or hardreset have any effect and the device still doesnt work even on charger then it has a hardware issue and I recommend contacting palm or the place where you bought the pda and findout about repairs and possible price, may be high.

good luck and if theres anything else let me know.
