Mitsu ws55511 Won't turn on

I've replaced convergence ic, 2 resistors, 2 pico fuses, and 7 capacitors. Green light blinks for a min or so then turns off. Press power (remote or tv doesn't matter) acts like its going to turn on then it doesn't. I'm at my wits end and need help.

I recently had this happen to mine. The caps were leaking, and had to replace the tuner.

Hi,
Please download Service Manual from HERE, it is free. Download all 3 files on website.
Service manual has all technical details and schematics for this TV including troubleshooting.
After having schematics, let me know to proceed further like check voltage of what part and where it is located.

Hi there
Try to reset the system as below
If the TV doesn’t respond to either the remote control or the front panel controls
will not power off, press the SYSTEM RESET button on the front panel with a pointed item like the point of a ball
point pen or end tip of a paperclip.
The TV will turn off and the TIMER light will flash quickly for about one minute. When the TIMER light stops flashing,
you may turn on the TV again. The changes you made while the TV was on before you used the SYSTEM RESET
button may be cancelled, however, the changes you made previously are not cancelled. Only those changes since
the last power on may be lost when the system reset button is pressed. All other settings are retained

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya

It could be the programming on the remote control because you have replaced the IC board and a few capacitors, now you may have to enter the codes for the various A/V channels into the remote, then try again
Refer to your manual for the right codes

    Good luck and kind regards

Its the short tracking on the board itself due to some moisture or also check all main junctions on the board with onm meter for the proper voltages.

this is the details i found for code 22 on one of tv repair forums.adding it for some more help to you.:

error code 22 is a short protect circuit. this means the tv has found a problem in the tv and will not let it turn on till fixed. this could be several different circuits in the tv that is causing this. we need to test some parts to see what this is. the most common is a shorted convergence circuit

On the middle board there are three green ceramic pico fuses
12_31_2011_7_11_11_pm.pngIf you know how to test them, then test them. If not, then just replace them. They are something like 5 for a dollar. They protect the image side of your TV from the power side. Some people have trouble with the capacitors, but I have never seen it happen. Chances are that you can fix it for a dollar.

Will bad convergance ic's keep my Mitsubishi

If one of the two stk-392-570 chips has shorted it will blow a pico fuse on middle board and set will not come on.

Plug set in, turn on, when green power light goes out on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input (device) buttons for at least five seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code: if 2,2 it is a blown pico fuse and the chips also must be replaced. I have start to finish step by step instructions that are available if the customer selects me to answer in the new Marketplace here on Fixya.

see attached photo of chip and also part of middle board with the green pico fuses.

Mitsu WS-55859---turned off & only powers up for 2 secs

2,2 is short protection.

98% chance the fuse or fuses (there are two 5 amp pico fuses) that protect the convergence circuit are blown. If you find F9AO4 OR F9AO5 on that board check them--if either is open the STK-393-110 DID IT.

Fairly short life for this chip if it was installed correctly and had heat sink compound applied to it--once in a while you get a bad one.

If this has helped you, rate this solution as I do this here for FREE.

It will turn on sometimes and then it wont...The stand by light just flashes

First CK pico fuses around the convergence ICs big black ICs they look like resistors will be yellow or green also CK small blue capacitor behind hori out put transistor 2kv i have seen them have small burn hole on them, You may need to replace both of your STK ICs.STK394-570? Look on them they will have P/N on them. How many times does it flash before turning off? you can find out By typing in Understanding Sony Blinking Codes.

Same as everyone green light comes on for a couple of seconds than back off!!!

ok, the problem with short detect....
unsolder all convergance ic's and try to turn it on.
does it come on?
if no, check all diods in the power suppy area.
check h-output
unsolder all convergance ic's and try to turn it on.
does it come on?
also might have a vertical ic.
mmm, check all fuses including the solder in pico fuses.
beleave they are sold green color.
when i get one that comes in they have 1 or 2 blowed pico fuses and that means convergance ics need replaced along with fuses.
good luck!!
