Typewriter won't print period or comma

I've changed the ribbon and tried other printwheels. The result is the same...no commas or periods will print.

The impact solenoid has a rubber cap on it that is worn out. This cap needs replaced and the impact mechanism adjusted.

Ribbon does not advance properly to give clear imprint

You are in the over strike ribbon mode. The code and period, comma or slash (I can never remember which) will get you out of the mode.

My Swintec 7040 when I type a letter or word only write a half of the letter or the word and when I try to erase a letter or word the typewriter erase this but the erase ribbon stay in the same position...

There are a few possibilities. If only the tops are printing Press down on the platen to be sure it is fully seated in the side frame. The T/W may be in the overstrike ribbon mode Code period, comma or slash will get you out of that mode.

My ribbon is not advancing. It appears that a little motor or gear has gone bad. Is this part available?

You can get into an over strike ribbon mode, the ribbon only moves a little. Code comma or period will take you out of that.

Ribbon

If the ribbon is just spacing a little bit in each stroke it is probably in overstrike mode. Code comma, period or slash will get you out of the mode. I can never remember which one.

The code key with period, comma or slash I'm not sure which will take you out of the overstrike mode.

I have a wheelwriter that won't type some punctuation (comma, period). I've changed the ribbon and tried different printwheels. Nothing solves the problem. Any suggestions?

The impact solenoid has a rubber cap that has worn down. Replacing the cap and adjusting the impact mechanism will get you back in operating order !
